a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

Bear with me. This is a dumb idea and I know it, but I think it's funny.
So everyone wants to go back to their villages, right? What if, in some version of the game where higher-tech items can be crafted, you could potentially devote your life to making a time machine to transport you into the future? (Past is impossible since to do that you'd have to invent LITERAL TIME TRAVEL in the real world to interact with past players, and if you can do that for OHOL I suggest you transfer your efforts to NASA or creating world peace or something like that.)
So you make this ridiculously complicated machine. You step into it and set the time for some ridiculous far-off date in the future (equal to, I dunno, five to ten real-time months).
Then you die. Effectively. The time machine disappears.
But sometime around the five to ten real-time months you set it for, you log into the game and spawn as that adult self that you left in the time machine oh so many in-game centuries ago. The time machine spawns in the nearest available block to where you built it. You step out of the time machine into...whatever happened to that place you left. It's been eons. Literally eons. People are speaking a different language. No one knows you.
But you're back.
Practically I know this would never work what with game updates and server resets and apocalypses that would erase you from the space-time continuum before you were able to emerge from the time machine, but for some reason I got this idea and felt compelled to share it with the world. I apologize.
It is late and I promise I will go to bed now.

My name's Ash. And yes, I want to be the very best, like no one ever was.
And no, I've never played Pokemon. It just...kinda happened that way.

I think it's pretty neat...

It would be amazing but a nightmare...I have no idea how it would work with server resets, not to mention it would guzzle soooo many resources and take a lifetime to build.
Still, might be worth it just to step out as an elder, scream "WHAT YEAR IS IT???" and die.
And it would fit with your username!

it's not really a set date to complete it, if you don't finish the time machine at your forties, you can still complete it last year

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

What about a Cyro machine that keeps your guy alive until you log back in. Probably too cheaty though, Depends how easy it'll be to get to that stage.
Going back in time could be a future apocalypse method though.

This idea is goofy, but I would love to see more things that play with the "fast time" aspect of the game.
Maybe instead of a time machine it was some sort of ruin that you'd find. There would be a trap in the ruin that would trap you and seal you in amber for 30 years.

Wouldnt it be better for it to be like 10 hours instead of months? This way, there might still BE a village to travel to
