Hy everyone,
Since February I stopped playing this game... I was kinda forced to!
The game system made it impossible to play for me... And how man I love this game.
Thanks, Jason for the work you are putting into it! I hope your vision come one day to life!
But I can't play it.
Only three curses from a player and I am going directly to Donkey Town. This is a way to low for any interaction with other players in the game. As all is based on building trust with others, with only three curses as safeguard it doesn't let any room for misinterpretation. Actually, it blocked all parts of the game, going to close to weapons, making blades (even for a train), grabbing clothes, or just not being around in the village to often can lead to a five hours ban of the servers. Now if I am rescuing my queen, or protecting my village from griefers it is the same. If they are mon than three in a short time, I will be spending 5 hours waiting close to a banana tree.
Now, Jason, you are talking about wars between villages, murdering as a state and the importance of fight as a game mechanic and why those are not often happening. I would love to be part of that, but if you sanction so much it just doesn't make any sense to do it as a player.
I guess with three curses, it means I am one player having a lot of total curses. You could argue I was griefing. I would explain:
I put a lot of creativity in this game, as it is one of the only were the players are the story. I try to connect cities, make them flourish, I build lots of road system to improve them, trying to improve it each. and every time so any players find food quickly and do not starve, workers find their tools easily and are close to there working area, improve transportation so running around are less needed. But even them I created trade shop for explorers to switch gears as then needed it, played myself as an alien making the first contact to the human race through this game asking if Earth is ready, being part of huge cities on private servers like Mushroom Town, and a few others.
But also I killed some people, stress tested some towns killing a few key players, being part of some wars,...
So I have being cursed, by any type of players, a lot. My total curses score should be pretty high, and that makes the number of cursed needed to send me to Donkey Town pretty low. For that, I made my fair share of hours in Donkey Town, Surely other thirty hours.
Now I found myself the last three times only because of three curses. Building a train station and therefore making blades, it just so happened that griefers had been raging this town before I popped in. protecting my cities other griefers, and therefore being cursed by the griefers army.
As I am kinda blocked there, I would not like to spend five hours again. But I would love to play this game, Lots of improvement have been made. Thanks, Jason. Is it possible to do something, so I should not fear to play?
Thanks for taking the time and Hopefully seeing you soon!

Three curses in an hour is still a lot. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get that many in that short amount of time unless they really deserved it. So as long as you play the game normally without greatly annoying other players you should be fine.
Also, I think requiring only 3 curses to be sent to Donkey Town means you're the person with the most lifetime curses in the game, now that's a feat.
Offline
Twisted, Thanks for taking the time.
I don't know what you intend to say with playing the game ' normally'. I play as allowed to. My dream in this game is to be part of two everlasting community.
I try to follow the story of my life in the game, be helpful and explore new solutions to make the community flourish. But as it can so happen in one hour one life, you kill someone to protect your queen, griefers curses you back. That means an entire section of the game stories is just block for me forever. Sure I can limit myself to farming and nobody will curse me. And I do it sometimes. That just would be sad. I do not think this game is only about that.
Last I played I had in mind that Trains could revolutionise the city and how people play. Things are, it is hard to make a train in one life, so I made a lot of blades to build the tracks. I tried my best to explain that it was tracks intended only, but as people prefer to be safe than sorry, they curse me for good measures. Surely I did let it slide and abandoned the project. But I found myself in Donkey Town.
Yes, it doesn't happen that Often. But those are a situation where the punishment is way too high compers to what I did. We are talking about 5 real life hours to be able just to be back. Then no guaranty for how long I could be able to stay.
I am quite positive to not be the person with the most curses in the game. But pretty high up for sure. Maybe good long hours without curses could have an effect on the total curses score, in order to help people recover for high curses score. After a long time without curses, you find yourself with more margin again and be able to be part of some great stories once again.

I have never been cursed AFAIK and I have made a good share of blades or things that require blade blanks, either you land in one of those families where toxic players somehow converged or your protecting the queen is actually seen as griefing
Offline
Have you gotten a lot of curses in the past? The first time you get sent there isn't isn't for 5 hours...

You need to have been cursed more than 75 times to lower your threshold to 3 curses. As of earlier this month there were only nineteen people with more than 75 lifetime curses.
You are one of the twenty most cursed people in the history of this game.
This does not happen by accident, which means you're obviously lying.
I have made a ton of blades and even killed a bunch of people (that I believed deserved it at the time) and I've never received more than one curse at a time from people around me.
If you're getting cursed by several people at the same time you're probably just being shitty, which is even more likely considering your past behaviour.

Hoo wow Twisted what a Hard and Arsh Answer. I didn't expect that from such a member of this community.
To answer the questions, yes I have been cursed a lot in the past. It Happened way back April last years when I saw that two cities couldn't be connected, even though the collective' effort from a lot of players myself included other more than 48 hours.
I was disappointed considering what the trailer was promising, and from the little success, the project had (even it was one of the biggest city at the time). The two towns died off pretty soon after we stop helping.
So instead of always building, I build and as a ninja murdered some people, stop being always peaceful but then tried to implicate myself in more wars event. And I paid my price for it, I have been in Donkey town and never complained about it.
Then I just played on a private server with discord community, and men we were building. I learn a lot about the mechanics of the game. So I returned to normal servers in order to bring back what I learned. The normal server is super crazy, a lot of opinion little ways to communicate. I usually have no curses at all when I play, maybe one is something is wrong, but in some few cases, and just so happened that the last three one is the one I talked about.
I have seen your stream and even being with you as you stream, and even have been complimented from you for my action. So I have been killing people, but never try to damage buildings, wasted crops, hide some parts of cars, and that's the sort of action I would definitely call shitty or griefing. As it is ruining the experience, without any direct way to control it.
My past behaviour is as I described it, creative and helpful, with some bad side a long time ago. A lot of members who played directly enjoyed it

As stated i would love to be back in game, and do not have to spend again 5 hours of my life in DK

It's sort of your punishment for annoying so many players over however long you've played. I've played before the curse system was ever added and I've got like 60~ curses in my nearly 2k hours which is still under the curve of the average curse to played time and most of mine come from a one off incident.
It's hard to feel bad for you because you brought this upon yourself by breaking the social norms of the game (griefing) and most players aren't very fond of griefers in the first place. If you don't want to spend five hours in donkey town you can either wait until the curse system gets overhauled (not looking good for you on this front) or giving Jason another 20 bucks. The fact you're getting three curses at this point when the curse system is so weak just affirms that you're doing something you really shouldn't be.
fug it’s Tarr.

Thanks, Tarr for your constructive answer.
I don't exactly know how the curse system works now, I stop last January after one year of full playing the game. And i still got 4 hours on the count down, for last protecting my queen.
So I went on different phases as I discovered different faces of the game.
I got my curses, by killing which is bad, and spend my time on it in Donkey Town. That was back in April 2018. It was even before the Total Curse Score was even relevant to you DK Time. Since then I stopped killing, even though I had to defend myself and protect Mushroom town, to which Jason even answer: It is a good thing that people want to destroy your town, now you get to protect it.
Now more than I year later I am pointing out something that I think is a problem in the curse system, not for people to feel bad for me. Jason thinks murder is part of making this game work. And it is fair that is also punished, but as Twisted is not a bad guy for killing people I don't think I am bad enough (arguably more good than bad actually) to be sort of banned from this game.
My only reason to play right now is to experience again those crazy cults from this game and see again if it is possible to make a long-lasting community.

I wonder: how do you check your curse history?
- I believe the term "Berrymuncher" is derogatory and therefore I shall use the term "Berrier" instead.

Only way an average player knows their curse score tier is through going to donkey town. Jason did a graph not too long ago if the players with most played time + how many curses they had at the time so it's possible for us long time vets to know where we were in relation to the rest of the population.
fug it’s Tarr.

I would have said the same, only way to know for sure is by going to Donkey Town.
Interesting Graph. If I understand it well, there is one player with almost 250 curses and more than 2000 hours in Donkey Town?
Offline
That's the graph legend. No one has played that long and gotten that many curses, most cursed most time played player is Morti who looked close to 80 curses at around 2k hours followed by myself at around 1800 and 60~ curses.

Woah woah twisted getting angry, haven’t seen too much people with so much curse tho pyroll. Lol if you got so many curses by playing normally I used to grief so much and still didn’t get cursed enough. Just buy a new acc.
Offline
Nah I'm not angry, it just seems to me that Pyroll is trying to manipulate people to his side and I'm not buying it.
And yeah, the graph Tarr linked is the graph I used to see how many people have 75+ curses.

I would also like the curses to get reset. Haven't been to D-Town in forever but I'd like a little more cushion. I have a feeling I've been cursed around 30 or 40 times.
What is an ominous blade blank?
It's that blade blank next to the file and short staff you see in a naked toddler's basket.

I'm sure all the griefers out there would like it if their lifetime curse score would just go away.

So, guys, I see.
But I do not want to be assimilated as a griefer. I killed people and paid my time for it.
This game does have a system to kill people and it is an important part of the game mechanics (balanced gameplay, storytelling, etc ). I just point out a problem in the way curses score are right now affecting players. Apparently, I am not alone. This way is almost equal to a life ban for something that the creator himself endorses (per twitter or per the weekly emails): What happens when two cities go to war and one side is cursing the other?
Twisted, about being manipulative, lying and so on, I actually had on the other hand the courage to point out a problem and being cruelly Honest about my situation. If it doesn't work in your world and how you see it I am quite ok with that. But I would like to remember some of your video where you went on a rage and killed off people because you didn't like them. So you are the same as me, deal with it.
You do and enjoy a privileged position in this game as Youtuber/Streamer, that I myself experience when I was luckily playing with you. I made a beautiful road in the town where you were born, little village and I saw how people are playing/watching your stream and helping you along the way. You made a compliment about it, then ended your stream. Other player did get jealous of it and destroy it for this reason. Life is unfair sometimes. My point is you got power and with power comes responsibility please use it carefully.
On another point, how do you deal with Tarr having sixty curses, is he also manipulative and lying to you?
Then about the fact of buying again the game... I did put already 20 euros in the game based on the trailer, and the possibility to make of some long-living society. That is just not the case, so far actually that it is close to false advertising. Don't get me wrong I enjoy this game really much and want to support the creator but I am not paying again for an unfair situation and with no possibility to get my case actually reviewed...
So I paid already in money and my real lifetime for this game, I would like to play.

What happens when two cities go to war and one side is cursing the other?
There doesn't exist an ability to curse outside of one's lineage at present, so NO cursing the other side will occur. It also removes accountability from players, as wars are likely to do with respect to real people in the real world (the Nuremburg trials happened MUCH later than codes of law developed). Lack of accountability for players already makes for a serious issue with the game. Bad parenting has no effects that bad parents care about at present.
It doesn't sound like you feel particularly motivated to parent or *build* a civilization overall.
I did put already 20 euros in the game based on the trailer, and the possibility to make of some long-living society.
You can say that all you like, but it's not really compatabile with war, or war has to get done for the sake of some concrete reason for some concrete benefit at best (and actually work that way... which I am skeptical of a priori). Look, you said this:
Now, Jason, you are talking about wars between villages, murdering as a state and the importance of fight as a game mechanic and why those are not often happening. I would love to be part of that...
So you like to murder and fight in games. But useful wars to civilization building aren't like that in the real world. Useful wars don't have people killing for the sake of killing. Or such a tendency gets kept in check. Useful wars have people killing intelligently and what they like instead is the spoils of war. And that's not your enemy's blood... unless you're a vampire I suppose. You also said you 'stress tested' some towns by killing a few key players. That's not violence for the sake of the spoils of war.
