a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

Is a simple website that shows an animation of recent birth locations over time, based on the public life logs. Maybe a time slider for the past day or something like that.
Even if this lagged behind by 24 hours, it would be very useful.
Ideally, Eves should be colored specially.
Family line tracking is a bit harder (because you'd have to maintain state and track lineages, because the line isn't marked in each birth entry in the life log)---so that's probably not necessary for now.
Tutorial lives aren't logged, so that's not a problem. Donkeytown folks will be outliers that should probably not be shown, unless there's some kind of zoom control.

Summons wondible. XD
I might work on this later in the week. The mapping is fairly trivial but I’m particularly interested in family line tracking and village tracking; maybe through dbscan clustering.

Didn't realize this was top of mind. Getting stuff on the web map is still an open question, but here are some renders of the past week:

Greens are Eves?
The long lines to the West and North, I'm guessing, are some fertile mother on the run? Any other thoughts on what might cause that?
I'm really hoping that someone can make a version of this that is updated automatically and daily, hopefully with a time slider and a play button for the previous day, or a way to page back through past days.
I'm still working on this stuff, and I want to be able to see how my changes affect things.

jason can you replace your delimiters on names at least?
i found it hard to manage cause the spaces so limits automatic sorting so it needs manual cleanup where families got no names, posted it on github as well, sure names arent required but makes it a bit more nice
also in other table it pushes coordinates of birth apart from death coords so maybe a row change so those fall onto same column
i don't promise anything automatic but if it's easier to clean up the data i might do a series of some sort
in the previous one i seen a bell town which died out and lines were going towards, then was revived and died out again, it was interesting, i think it was still a spiral

Yep

The plot of deaths looks very similar, I would guess so. The north one has one point a ways farther out, so probably kept running after became infertile. Come to think of it, an outlier can be found easily: Lilly Janeway, who certainly seems to have had enough kids.

Alright fuck it, ban me, whatever, free speech IDGAF
Jason, we've butted heads before and you likely just write me off as some troll if you even remember me, but what the actual fuck.
First you belittle your player base, the one single component a game could not exist without (a game without players is not a game), you chastise them for trying to help. You insult them for not being worthy of helping because they are not up to your standards.
And then you have the audacity to turn to the same community you just insulted, asking for help because there's something you either can't do or can't be ares to? For free?
Mixed messages. Refusing help. Treating us like shit, then turning around DEMANDING help. Do you treat your family like this too?
You need therapy. You have issues.

Umm.. this thread was Jason responding to another thread after seeing information that a player had developed, thought it was great, and wanted to see if more interesting data came out. This is a prime example of Jason not realizing he needed something until someone came up with it and he saw the use. https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6715

Actually I believe it does. You went on a high horse rant, on something that had a player creating something, Jason asking (not demanding) if it could show other data, and the player saying yes, I can do it.
Quite frankly, if the way you ranted is the normal way you "offer" help, Im not surprised you have been given the cold shoulder. There is no reason for that, regardless if you feel wronged or not.
After all, we are all mature individuals here, I hope.

Got some lineage tagging. You can't get unique colors for all the lines, but I did some prime fuzzing so you can at least tell many of them apart.

This is way out of line. You need to cool your head. I looked through your post history and most of your posts seem normal, but for the past week or so you seem extremely hostile and trolly.

Now that is really cool, wondible!

One idea is to draw edges between each parent-child pair.
Would end up appearing as a dendrogram, and you’d see how players are migrating.

It's perfectly in line. Jason wants help, but refuses to consider suggestions which are a form of help telling us that he doesn't need them, and valuing his taste over all others players taste. I feel sure you still disagree. Alright... where is inaccuracy with respect to Jason's behavior that Berry Picker said?

The way the cell system works leaves my with a headcannon that the game started as "what would massively multiplayer game-of-life look like?"

Valeros, that "rant" was in response to not just this thread but also other posts by Jason. And it is in Jason format - clearly stating problems (not with the game but with Jason's communication with the players) so it should be helpful to Jason.
Okay the "you need therapy" part might be read as an insult but we are all adults I hope, able to recognize a figure of speech.
Now, I'm sorry I interrupted this private thread. Praise Jason.

Got the front end mostly worked out. Could probably be rewritten for efficiency.
In layers top right, select Yesterday's Lives Anim (non anim shows the whole day at once), and probably the Faded base layer. Larger circles are eves.
This is manually updated static data right now. I also haven't spent any time on CDN settings yet, so it may need a refresh, and some people have reported trouble even then.

- I believe the term "Berrymuncher" is derogatory and therefore I shall use the term "Berrier" instead.

i did dis
https://ohol-test.weebly.com/
just the data in sorted/filtered format
cant figure out how to number them properly
cause it's ajax hiding/showing
the workaround is to copy the whole page into google sheets after filters and then delete the top rows to count disconnects or such
google sheets can drop the duplicates too, while this jquerry filter can only arrange together
quite a lot of data so i cut it into 1500 parts to help loading
