Should eve names be limited to family names not currently in use?

It seems really easy to mix up families when multiple families have the same name.
I imagine that when an eve names herself, checking if someone had the last name in the last X hours (maybe 24 hours), and if there has been a person, pick the next lastname out of the list, that wasn't in use.
That way, family names would be unique enough to distinguish.

should be at least more than the last weeks top fam
so like 100 hours
wouldn't even mind a week
there are a lot of similar names to chose from, like Christoferson has like 4 variances

I agree. If a living player has your Eve name, you should either be prompted to pick again or the game should autocorrect to the next closest thing.

just see the other topic, someoen told that Stark is 90 gen

it was barely 30, and when you check the data, Radish XII was a long lien yesterday and Radish XIII was a medium line in some decaying city
ofc people sleep and fams die out but next day they think it might be same family
but not even close on map or not even same eve
