Servers were crashing last night due to a bug in the new code that prevents you from using a tool on your worn clothing (like hammering a crown back into an ingot while it's on your head). If a mother ever tried to put a sword backpack on a baby, and then the baby tried to pull the sword out (which it was too young to hold), bam, the server would crash.
It crashed about 7 times last night. Kindof amazing that only 7 babies tried to pull swords out of backpacks, but.
Anyway, it is fixed now.
I realized that a lot of people lost lives during these crashes. Everyone has been pushed up to 36 lives, and the new cap is 18 (you earn 1 life per hour until you hit 18 lives max). New players get 36 lives to experiment with.

thanks for fixing the problem so swiftly.
Also thanks for extending the lives, I never even gotten down to 12, but there is something psychological about knowing you might run out of lives if you are very unlucky.

Can the cap just be a temporary thing? 18 lives is an awful lot

For most intents and purposes 12=18 (don't quote me on that)... Maybe some way, if you've played less than 50 lives or something then have always 30 left. After that any 8..18 would be the same for most players. If low don't take risks. Plenty to do in towns, atm (at the moment) not many raids so you don't die rly that often.
