Tried to imitate Jason's style, his way of drawing hair is really hard to mimic. 
The results always tend to lack the certain "awkwardness" Jason's original characters have. I tried to get towards there by purposefully leaving eyes a bit mismatched and hair messy. But boy is it hard to get them right!

A short, brown haired white girl. Jason could get some ideas from that. Maybe he could also add a white black haired person or a brown haired black person. Or a blonde black person. I found out from a video that black blondes do exist.

Multi, try Uniball Vision Fine on real paper, then color with Tombow brush markers using a tracing table on a separate sheet, then scan and combine these two layers using multiplicative blend.
I don't think you're ever going to be able to replicate "my style" digitally. Part of what you're talking about is the awkwardness and messiness of real pens. Digital just looks too smooth. Even in the coloring, but especially in the pen strokes.

Long haired male characters would be cool. A black person with long dreadlocks down their back, or a viking looking blonde guy with straight/wavy hair falling behind the shoulders.
