I hear it was apocalypse tower, which didn't open eve window, followed by baby overflow apoc. It's hard to imagine this *not* happening from the towers, actually. Maybe a coordinated dispersal of surviving females to reach new food supplies.

I came in at the start of the new arc and managed to survive through the end of it too (with another character of course)
from my understanding, it was baby influx; about 10 babies per mother and i don't think anybody was in a great spot.
Interestingly, I was a 6yr old guy at the end of the short arc, so i spent the rest of my time making an axe in a certain corner of the map...!

Yes, that's exactly what happened. The apocalypse was triggered with a Nosaj tower, and when the new Arc started the Eve window didn't open which means there were only two families that just couldn't keep up with the influx of babies.

Do apocalypse towers still trigger apocalypse?

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

is this a bug or was it intended for apocs to not reopen eve window?

Jason Updated Nosaj spawning, so he seems to think them relevant.
Plus an apoc tower was completed at at the final moment.

Speak clearly sir, did the arc ended cause of the Endtower?

Perhaps Jason could say definitively based on logs. The odds against an endtower being completed at exactly the moment some other condition got met seem impossibly high.

yes the nosaj tower triggers the apocalypse but doesn't open an Eve window at least currently, which is why the previous arc was this short.
A lot of players died from the apocalypse (no food around, no clothes etc) but at the same time there was only a few families and mothers to get born to and no Eves, which triggered the second apocalypse most likely due to the baby/player ratio.

Yes, will fix this. Eve window should re-open.

SO we still have to look out for End tower of griefers and stop them?
Why having Endtowes really?
Basically 2 players can end the arc if they chose to. this is less than 1% of the player base.
Killing a griefer kills him for 10 minutes, Cursing him kills him for 90 Days.

You get plenty of warning. That endtower maze was an interesting part of the last arc. Gives you a quest.

The warnings do feel a little underwhelming especially the last one before the end is near.
If the world is about to end there should swarm of locusts, earth should be shaking, blood should be raining, you get the picture
And not a simple discreet strange door bell sound that most players wont notice or be able to connect to anything
Experienced players know that this sound means apocalypse but if a new player ears this he would probably not think twice about it and simply ignore it while the world is about to end.
Would be nice to have every player rush to the tower near the end to try to stop it (or not) and have a final battle.

Has anyone ever noticed that Nosaj is Jason backwards?

Take the first letter of each month in English.
January - J
February - F
March - M
etc.
Do it for all 12 months, and then put those letters in a line, in month order.
What do you see in the middle?
FYI, I was born in November.

What a strange coincidence. (¬_¬)

The chimes are for the expert players. They can call beginning players to arms. Beginning players won't know why they should run to the end tower anyway, right?

I dont know how you picture the apocalypse tower as in what it should represent, is it something mystical, biblical how should it be portrayed?
But imo if the end is about to happen for reasons that you could relate to an act of god or divinity, anything that is out of the common realm, it should feel more like the end with a real sense that something out of this world is happening.
Why should beginner players not be aware that the end is about to happen?
If any mystical/magical/divine or wathever event would happen on earth that would signify the end of days everybody would start freaking out and there would be a doom/end is near vibe, not a bunch of people going trough their day like nothing is happening.

I personally feel like the endtower is very underwhelming, you would think that as the end tower was almost complete the warnings would get more intense...
how ever their is another thing, their must be a way to end the end tower where it stands, it the end tower did change the world slightly to warning people how close the world is to ending the most you could do is block the tower, to make sure that the tower is never complete, but this would just cause any end tower change (on the world) to be permanent and loose there meaning.
SO their has to be a way to disactivate the tower, maybe by, I'm not sure activating a monolith. which would destroy the monolith and the endtower and reset all the Nosajs, ending the end tower effects on the world
now for the end tower effects let you imagination run wild, all fire turns purple, dogs start barking uncontrollably, water in Full Cisterns and buckets turn to blood (a red texture) you know the usual end of the world things
"hear how the wind begins to whisper, but now it screams at me" said ashe
"I remember it from a Life I never Lived" said Peaches
"Now Chad don't invest in Asian markets" said Chad's Mom
Herry the man who cheated death

Ok but then plz fix lock picking
You cant picklock without locking something else
maybe give us a difficult way to reset ancient walls?
Also, inform us in every life with a pop up beside the sound.
I have been told that the sound plays only once per 6 hours ( every time a stone is placed) and only if our mothers heard the sound we will hear it again.
The message does not need to be straight forward. It can be "....Oh! did you hear that, what might be?"
Many people probably won't know what this sound is or that the apocalypse tower mechanic is active or what even is an Endtower. Many will might not even hear the sound or think that is a bell tower.

I would be all in if there was more noticeable signs that the ending is coming on a more dramatic end

Yeah, if the world is about to end, it should be heralded by a suitably dramatic doomsday sound effect. Something ominous and sinister. Not a happy little chime.
