Let's Prep For Jason's Whacko Tools Update!

Hey Guys.

Simple Thread.

How do we, as experienced players, overcome the tools mechanic so that we can still complete relatively complex tasks with some efficiency?

How do we signal we need a tool used, but can no longer learn?

How do we signal that we are open to new tools?

If I need to write out sentences every time I need a certain tool used, I will never play this game.

Similar to how 'Q' used to indicate a forumer, forumers should create a 'tool request' shorthand.

I suggest emotes.

/Ill         --- while holding a tool if you need it learned.

/Yoohoo --- if you are willing and able to fulfill the request.

Thoughts?

What is an ominous blade blank?

It's that blade blank next to the file and short staff you see in a naked toddler's basket.

I mean, what about "T?" for "tool needed" and "T!" for "tool fulfilled/can help with tool"?

Yeah I think "T!" and "T?" are good.

Emotes:

Pro: Audible cues can be heard off screen.

Con: Takes three seconds instead of one second.

---

But why not both?

Using the emotes makes sense from an audible standpoint, however I think there are still enough people who enjoy spamming emotes that it would not always be helpful.

Both would be good, though. Maybe the /yoohoo (as overused as it is...) combined with a text cue?

That takes more effort and there is no pointing mechanic as far as I know.

I think it's the solution, we just need the thread to be widely seen and accepted in practice.

With high genetic score we will probably be able to do almost everything. We probably won't even need to talk. Leave farming for farmers, cooking for cooks and so on, why would you need a tool that is not in your proffesion? If it's not your proffesion perhaps you shouldn't care about doing this. All we will need to know is how many people is in each proffesion, perhaps only looking on map will be enough to know what proffesion should we choose. Yeah, no need to interact with people tongue
