Since we can have bear skins on floors, would be nice to have carpets as well, would open up a few possibilities, painting in patterns then 1-2 color combinations.
Tablecloth could convert tables into a container, so they would hold empty bowls and plates, or just some food

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

My concern with tables is that they block walking, so if they became a common part of bakeries things could get crowded fast. Most buildings are small and the standard crates or slot boxes can already contribute a lot to feeling cramped.

And in terms of my vision for the game, or why players would use buildings or clothing---this isn't Minecraft Creative Mode, folks. I'm not trying to make a game where you build stuff "just for fun" or "because it looks cool." I'm trying to make a game where you build stuff because you have to---because your survival depends on it, and because it's optimal. The walls in this game have always had R-values. There has always been a thermal propagation model (it was one of the first things that I coded on the server, four years ago). Walls were supposed to be functional. That's why you'd want to build them.

Alright, with that out of the way, please carry on Pein. You realize that motivation can be richer than solely being motivated by necessity.

He made a new tier of clothing that's intentionally worse than fur, dyes, paint, and who can claim that cars, morse code telegraphs, cameras and other novelty things are necessary for survival? That's such a hypocrite statement.

Don't forget tattoos and ice cream.
Although, to be fair, life isn't worth living without ice cream.

When he made it oil rigs, newcomen kerosone pumps, and diesel water pumps weren't necessary for town survival also. The newcomen multipurpose engine wasn't either. Perhaps even charcoal pumps weren't (perhaps importing water from distant ponds upgraded to deep wells perhaps, then could have worked to support a town long-term, but I think everyone preferred pumps more).
Good point about clothing.

it's quite weird from jason
first, we didn't get hitpoints, mainly cause "every game has it"
then duels were removed cause "if they want to kill you they should be able to"
that removed a good feature and a lot of skill, the game became less, since we can't make arenas and friendly duels also removed, plus gave noob griefers power, I saw a streamer who was on a skill level that he could take out the knife fro basket but his main concern was killing and telling kids to kill others
also, this removed some value of having veterans in disputes, it was never only offensive "griefer dance" was just dance, and could be used defensively, and we still got clown fiestas but favors bad intended attackers
we still don't have armor cause "other games have it"
no levelups on buildings or items, so nothing has value
no private property cause that is against the communist mentality
and no visual differences on pies, floors and some other items
it would be nice to have variations, and paintable items but seems like we can't have anything that's not unique even if it's good and must have unique even if it's bad

Yeah, all this really goes to show that the "lone game designer" isn't prone by any stretch of the imagination to be some sort of genius, but probably more prone to have an inability to recognize the reasons why more standard ways of doing things works out well.
Well, except the private property one. That's more to do with the size of villages and efficiency and lots of other reasons, but still. There's just too much that Jason insists works out better than other games, when other games do it better in some respect. Also, to use Jason-styled "reasoning", it's not like he has 15+ years of hard core game playing experience to know what works well in terms of mechanics and why.

I´m inclined not to make any more criticism of this game because we actually got out of the rift, we got the most playable pine panels and a nice road marker/sheep floor with the pine floor. If anything I would ask why did it took so long but I´d rather just enjoy it.
- I believe the term "Berrymuncher" is derogatory and therefore I shall use the term "Berrier" instead.
