When the world reset, do we all appear back close to the true 0 , 0 coords and the Tarr monument?
Or are we still the same crazy distance west of the Tarr monument as we were before?

I think we stay the same distance.
I don't think we'll get back to the monument until an update requires the map to reset and therefore reset our position and the start of the eve spread.
I'm not positive about all that, but I'm like fairly certain that's how it is.
*edit oh wait jason did wipe the map because of out of biome objects.. we might be close to it.

I'm flying high. But the worst is never first, and there's a person that'll set you straight. Cancelling the force within my brain. For flying high. The simulator has been disengaged.

I watched the first endtower apoclaypse happen on ShyDies twitch stream. The biome layout was exactly the same.
I also recall watching Stifado experience an apocalypse as a child in some jungle which became a jungle.
Last I knew, and I doubt anything has changed, all the apocalypse does is reset things to a state a nature, as if the human characters had never touched anything. Thus, you do not move at all on the map. And that's exactly what I remember when I've seen apoclaypses happen. A white screen and the players in the exact same location as before. Only the technological or technologically affect part (e. g. dead animals are technologically affected, so boars that got killed in the swamp come back) of the background has changed.
Also, here lie the coordinate logs for Wednesday: http://publicdata.onehouronelife.com/pu … nesday.txt I'm still seeing -40,000 ish for the first coordinate all over the place. If people had moved away from that by the apoclaypse process that doesn't seem likely to happen. So, people are still far, far away from the Tarr monument on bigserver2.

That was pre-rift. Shortly after the arc system began, map seeds were made variable, and reset on any kind of apocalypse

That's interesting and I didn't know that.

I'm looking at the log for Thursday now:http://publicdata.onehouronelife.com/publicLifeLogData/lifeLog_bigserver2.onehouronelife.com/2019_12December_12_Thursday.txt and still seeing -40,000 ish for x-coordinates. Maybe the map seed was for the position of The Rift within the map 7 times the surface of Jupiter? But with The Rift system gone, we're back to the same sort of reset from the pre-Rift era?

That sounds right. I was in game when the Apocalypse happened. I was on a road. The road didn't just disappear, I jumped to an entirely new area. At first I thought some bug teleported me, sans all my items, to a random spot. I had coords for a bell city that used to be near, so I ran there and it was now in the middle of jungle. I know nobody had built a bell city in the middle of a jungle biome.
Because of this I didn't know the world seed reset. I thought maybe we all just got moved back closer to the origin point of the axis.

Alright, it seems then that the map seed got reset, but the players didn't move back to (0, 0).
