Yea, so some of my first arguments on this site weren't the greatest. Berry pie vs. multiple other pie types, it looks like berry pies don't stack up well. But, really, it was more complex than anyone of us argued at the time. And it's even more complex now since rabbits require bait and bait has two sources.
What did we all seem to miss in these yum debates with respect to pie (there were other threads where food efficiency and yum got brought up)? The source of the vegetables, and the source of the animal feed. A plate of berry pies, for example, made from berries that come from wild bushes provides 48 pips for just the soil and water cost of wheat, while mutton pie where a lamb got fed a bowl of berries and a carrot (37) from domestic sources, provides 60 pips worth of food at the cost of more than one tilled plot ... ((6/7) + (1/5)) = (37/25). That sounds like berry pie makes for a better deal if made that way.
Also, Tarr made his comment above about potatoes when using a shovel on potatoes broke the shovel. So many sources insisted that potatoes had to be worthless. Thing was, charcoal pumps didn't bust at the time, so even making a newcomen multipurpose engine wasn't needed, and no settlement from what I can tell used some 40+ iron on potatoes instead of making a diesel engine. I still thus maintain that potatoes were good under the old system, since there existed plenty of iron that could have gotten used on shoveling potatoes. And perhaps, belltowers can function as a suitable replacement for 'iphones'.

Back, foul beast! Back to the grave where this argument belongs! It is dead and it should stay dead.
Torment the Living no longer with your talk of berry pies and iron-eating potato bushes, you undead fiend. Your words have no power here.

lmao
Seriously though, the source of the food stuffs used to make a pie has some relevance as to it's in-game value still today. Perhaps a better example: rabbit pie where burdock as bait got used to snare the rabbit has a different value then when a bowl of mashed berry-carrot got used for bait.

Yeah it still has relevance. the argument has been beaten into the ground already though. Everyone has their own opinions and it's hard to prove everything definitively with too many variables. We just go around in circles stating the same points we have before.
