Um, I thought the new curses will show black speech buble above people we cursed only AFTER update. Right now I see two people I cursed and I can't connect what they did.
Also screen is overloaded with infos.

I mean if you're willy nilly cursing people for small things (being rude or something) you should probably be reconsidering why you're cursing in the first place.
It was nice being able to see which of my kids was being a bad egg (dude was trying to shoot the white people because ???) then being able to pass the information to the rest of the family through the now working hierarchy system. Was a pretty good experience overall.
Worlds oldest SID baby.

Not for small things, today I've seen some black bubble and before death she try to stabb some white guy (only one in village). Now I know.
I'm curious, our black nicknames will last forever?
Also for newborns and leaders, why we need text about them when we have already pointed arrow on map? Maybe just change the colour of backround on map for a while to make info more noticeable.

It's because Jason builds on things then builds on them again. Maps are a kind of paper, which you read, but it has coordinates. The game literally sends you the player coordinates the same way it gives you map coordinates, by having your character speak it, except for the extra player information that got added.

Are you asking if the randomized "nickname" assigned to someone you have cursed will always remain the same or if you will always see black text on someone that you have cursed?
The curse lasts for thirty days. The nickname is assigned to the player on an individual basis and should remain constant from life to life for the viewer. But I don't know what happens after the curse timer has expired. You curse someone, thirty days elapse, they are no longer cursed and don't show black text anymore ... if you curse them again, do they have the same cursed nickname or a randomized new one? No idea - perhaps someone that knows code can figure it out.
It would be nice if it stays the same, but if not, it isn't that hard to extend the curse timer. You just need to re-curse the players who you strongly identify as undesirable before thirty days have fully elapsed.

After the reset I managed to be the Eve for the short lived McKenzie clan. My second born came over at about age eight or so and told me I had a black bubble for her, and she had cursed me in some prior life. I said, "Wow! You must curse literally everybody, because the way it is now you can't be born to someone you've cursed unless there are literally NO mothers anywhere that you haven't cursed." She said, "No, that isn't how it works." IDK what to tell you kiddo, I literally just read that in the update notes.

Where did you find full update notes? The news post doesn't mention this change at all.

Punkypal is maybe referring to this line from Jason from the Baby Placement update:
But we should also be willing to ignore cool-downs and area bans if there are no other mothers available.
However, in that update note, Jason himself referred with area bans to that kind of area ban that occurs automatically after you lived a life in a certain area to prevent you from spawning in the same area/family again the next life. That is apparent from the sentence before that quote, saying:
Of course, we also want to respect each mother's birth cool-down when possible, and also each player's previous-life area bans (so they don't get born to the same family over and over).
However, I do not know if an area ban of this kind is equal to an area ban resulting from a curse. Actually, it should not, because:
And of course, through out all of this, we respect curses, never placing a cursed baby near a player who cursed them, ever ever ever. If there's no place for a cursed baby to go, they are sent to donkey town.
That being said, keep in mind that since last update, cursing rules have changed so the rules should also apply the other way around. Look:
Along with keeping the person from being born near you, you will also avoid being born TO them, with them as your mother, whenever possible. This doesn't block you from getting born near them, to some other mother.
Yes. Very confusing. On top of that, as it is a fresh update, some bugs could happen. In the end, I still do not quite fully understand how curses work, I guess.
If previous life area bans and curse area bans are not the same and rules apply identically to cursed as well as cursing individuals, he should not have spawned as your baby ever ever ever. But he did. So I guess I did not understand something correctly.

Are full update notes actually available somewhere? I feel like the news posts rarely cover everything that changes during an update. I can find some stuff on One Tech, but that only shows content changes, not coding changes, like this. I don't read code, so I can just look at the source code or something. This update seems to have included significant changes to hierarchy and cursing mechanics. I'd like to know more about what actually made it into the game after all the discussion.

Yaa... no, I do not think so. We gotta live with the diary format.
Patch notes like you get them from Grinding Gear Games, for example, are more for hardcore gamer audiences. I guess ohol‘s way more casual. Also with a lot more female players probably. ... not that I want to imply something by that though cough

Uh huh. And yet I can't help feeling insulted. (ಠ_ಠ)
Not cool, man.

Wish I could talk more with you about this in particular, Destiny, especially as it now turns out to become funny but I am afraid that would be too off-topic for this thread.

My bad, it actually wasn't from update notes. But from a post that came at nearly the same time.
In almost all circumstances, you will also never be born to a mother that you see as cursed (unless there are literally no other mothers for you server-wide).
