Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

Nope, players don't do things in game for reasons of necessity.

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

Is there anything wrong with it ? i think that its up to the players to decide what they want to do with their lives. And besides, colors can bring sparks of joy, sometimes, to such a blank environment. smile

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

Because for some clothes if resets the decay timer, and for walls it prevents them form decaying but, yes most coloring is done for pure esthetic

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

well itsss not for decay timer on walls, that's plaster, to be fair it's quite hard to paint a lot of them

9 took me a full life and the plan ahead of it

and that's harder than it sounds, plan for a life to do stuff is just as likely that a griefer promises that he will griefs the next city and the likeliness of them deserving it

when I do projects I got the game windowed and the project in the background to check up on it and might even nott be in a situation that I can start doing it without the requisites like tools or animals or iron

painting houses should definitely be faster a bit, like a few bowls only for each tile so not a full bucket of milk, sure looks nice butt doing en mass is a struggle

I brought 3 stacks of red balls to browns, made their adobe building, plastered most of it and still nobody else painted it other than me and I only managed like 3 tiles that next life

Well it's no surprise that it takes a full bucket to paint one wall, after all we are just throwing the paint on a wall and and then spreading it with our hands

It would be great if we could get tools to make painting more efferent
such as paint brushes, or paint rollers

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

We paint and dye because it's pretty! smile

I've seen mothers trying to dress their kids pretty much in the same color as her to quickly identify her offspring at glance..  (All red hats and blue shirts, or all blue hats ect.)

Painted walls make towns stand out from the next. It's just a pain to get them all painted. If it was easier I'm sure most towns would come up with their own "Tribe" color combinations for their buildings. As it is now, there are usually only a few painted walls throughout the whole town. lol

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

if painting and dying were easier I'd paint and dye everything honestly

just like in life, not all decisions are utilitarian choices made soely about function. some of the joy in life comes from simple decisions like dying your shirt red.

+1 for more usages of paint with a tool.

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

People take time to dye clothes because you gotta make a sacrifice in the name of fashion

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

It’s fun to see all that boring white clothing turn into a bunch of new fancy colors. Makes it feel like you made an impact. Too bad that it’s locked behind race restrictions now.

For the time being, I think we have enough content.

So many fun things are so much harder to do now.    I miss making saurkraut and planting mango trees.

Re: Why Do Players Dye Clothes and Walls?

Honestly clothes are retained better when dyed, also I like colors for jobs.  Red hat = medic  blue hat =guard  black tophat = mayor Also adds prestige to town and helps with player retention.

Think about the situation asking you child do you want a red hat a blue hat or a yellow hat that I had to kill a cow for? Then playing dress up with them for a few minutes while they grow up.

Helpful for starting gang wars if you're bored as well. LMFAO!
