Think of a long garden from Left to Right, that has berries, carrots, corn, beans, pumpkin on the Left side and at the right side a Granary (raw material storage room).
Above granary put the Pen, Right of the granary an open cooking area (stew and hot coal foods in general), bellow granary a kitchen.
If we put a rail along with this long farm we can have an assembly line of berry carrot bowls, stew ingredients, and corn animal feed Straight IN the granary!
To stop these carts in the middle you have to click the first cart of the line to change direction and block the rest.
Who is making rails here?

Why not plant berry, carrot next to pen and wheat next to kitchen? (Pen would be adjacent to kitchen). That solves most of the trouble.

Instead of being super practical I prefer to have a nice looking town, ideally with trees and other stuff that can make it look better.
Nice looking towns survive the longest.

Not to bash you coco but your goodlooking effort on the cisterns says otherwise.
- I believe the term "Berrymuncher" is derogatory and therefore I shall use the term "Berrier" instead.

Ouch...
I think there should be farm production right next to the area that needs it. Corn next to cows and pigs. Carrots/berries/sheep/pie kitchen all next to each other. Corn and beans next to mesa kitchen. Broth next to milk station for bottle/pouch reuse. wheat at mesa kitchen, pie kitchen, and bread bakery. There's no reason to have a huge farm not next to the area that uses it.

The only real problem with splitting up the farms is the distribution of hoes, soil, and water. Things will go missing.

Water shouldn't be a problem if we are putting cisterns everywhere now. Soil will be a problem, so we'd have to have a couple of soil dumps. Hoes are always a problem unless there's at least three, even on large farms. Maybe boxes or tables where stash like 5 hoes across all the focused farms.
I posted that a while ago, but this is my idea of focused farms, right next to their production and where they'll be consumed.

That's your opinion and you clearly came here only to bash me. I had no time to make it better looking then. Go back munching berries testo.

what do you think of this?
The idea about it is to use 4 carts.
As for the Granary, it can store more than 24 baskets to be filled with raw food All the time. Bowls and buckets as well.
The Granary should be FULL with food to work as a warehouse for Cooks. ( cooks don't go to the farm to pick up carrots they have a Granary)

Cow pen should be separate. There's no reason for the cows to be moving around.
It'd be nice for the berries/carrots to be next to the compost, sheep and pie kitchen. All need each other, especially the compost/sheep/carrot/berry.
Offline
Berries should be far away to not be eaten raw.
Also, berries and carrots should be far from compost so they don't get overproduced.
Berry carrot bowls are in the granary or you can make as much as you want and send them there with carts.
The rail, the granary and the road make sure that everything is near you want to use them.
PS: yes cows need a 2 tile pen, but i was bored to make it.

Ok, I get it. Thus the trolley.
To be fair... eating two berries per lifetime (one by hand, one by bowl) isn't terrible... as long as those are the only two you eat then they can be helpful for yum. I think there are 7 gooseberries per 1 soil + water... compare to 3 pepper (1 for seed), 2.5 onions (5 for 2 water, 2 soil), and 5.2 for tomatoes (one tomato for 5 seeds) for the same soil/water input.
I think being against all berry consumption isn't it.. we should be against non-yum food consumption. Except for stew/mutton pie/turkey other base foods.

yeap berries are good to yum and you can just walk there once to yum them.
if you saw I have not dedicated space for Onions and peppers cause we don't need them.
There are about 29 more efficient yum food than onion peppers and salsa.

I bump this as with the current plow and sprincles tech would be the perfect design.
