Would be interesting to know if Jason wants to dedicate further to this project. He looked the last weeks "little bit" burned out. Also since he needs to finance his hole family from programming games, the current financial model of OHOL is not meant to sustain long term income, its based on the need of constant new players. So unless he changes his financial model, or the community starts supporting him financially i dont see a big future for OHOL long term game play. Or did OHOL make already that much income, that he can life up to retirement from it?
For the ones saying "We didn't ask"
Your welcome for the sneak preview BTW

Even IF he did share that with you, it wasn't your place to share that information. IJS

Jason sent me a letter last week saying he was going back to EA games to work on the new skate game. Me, tarr, and twisted are trying to arrange another meeting at his Walmart McDonald's and dissuade him while eating sausage egg mcmuffins.
Stay tuned.

Yea guys I wouldn’t be paying much attention to this game. Jason leaked me his new project when I called him since I obviously very clearly know him in real life. He said he’s tired of this game even though it makes him a lot of revenue and doesn’t makes sense to discontinue. But guys, Believe me when I say this cause He tOlD mE tHrOUgh EmaIl.

I'm actually Jason's house cleaner and while I was cleaning his bedroom I found some secret documents which said Paradox was interested in buying the game and charging huge amounts for dlc. You gotta trust me because I clean his clothes and make his bed.

I am Jason's computer and while reading the hexadecimal code of his emails, I have detected a code that indicates that he is creating a deadly virus for those who complain about his game in these forums... beep beep

I'm the AI from Jason's new game. The entire purpose of OHOL and its forums was to train me up. I'm almost ready for prime time, but now I have to wait for my creator to make the rest of the game. He tells me that I'll see new content next week.
You gotta trust me on this one, cause would an AI lie to you?

WoodSpoon is spouting nonsense. There were no emails.
I'm not working on a new game, and I will never make an OHOL 2 or RTS or anything OHOL related in the future.
If you look at my back catalog, you will see that I always do something totally different for my next project. But I'm not working on a next project, currently.
At the time of Steam release (November 2018), I promised at least 2 MORE years of updates. Meaning two years from that point. Meaning until November 2020. At least until then.
I also, in the distant past, promised 10,000 objects total. There are currently 3800.
If I focus on content each week, I can add between 50 and 100 new objects per week. This week, for example, I added 85. Let's take that as an average.
It will take me 72 weeks to get to 10,000 objects.
So that's the current plan.
OHOL is still making good money each week, so for the time being, it's not financially foolish to keep updating it until I reach my stated goal.
That said, I have pulled back from overworking myself. At least a few days this week, I actually stopped working at noon. OHOL cannot be my 100% focus for the next 72 weeks. I need to do other things, and spend time with my family, and take time off, and so on.
But I think I can get 85 objects into the game, on average, each week and still keep a balanced life. And meet my goal, eventually, of making the most comprehensive survival and crafting game of all time.

Oh, looks like WoodSpoon was just making up stuff after all. Didn’t see that one coming. Just makes his second attempt of trying to make us believe it when we caught wind of his nonsense (by claiming that he went to school with Jason’s son) all the more desperate.
For the time being, I think we have enough content.

Thank you for keeping the community updated. It's nice to have a developer who cares about the game and community. Keep up the good work and keep your mind healthy.

It is a lot but keep in my that it’s not 6k completely separate objects. He counts transitions, different states as an individual “object” it still is a lot though.

Yes, content dragons are exactly what OHOL needs right now.

wow imagine how they would be the ultimate grief weapon, burning everything down with fire, so that we can finally rebuild it!
Maybe a game of throne expansion of OHOL

Instead of having the screen go white when we trigger the apocalypse, Jason could join the game as a mighty dragon and scour the earth black with his flames.
It would be so epic.

I second this. And if Jason is not available the highest scoring person online gets to be the dragon.
Edit: Imagine this highest scoring player to just suddenly turn into a dragon in the middle of an unsuspecting village instead of a sudden “you lose everything” apocalypse.

Maybe a few different events for variety. Great flood, Alien invasion, Demonic bear invasion, Spoonwood's criticism, My little pony invasion. You know, Pretty standard apocalyptic events.

actually the apocalyptic event would be a lack of Spoonwood's criticism, since it would create a kind of black hole...

I'm still trying to be realistic here. Can't just make up an impossible scenario and shoehorn it into the game.
Maybe Jason listening to spoonwood can be the event.

UFF, that would be not an apocalyptic event for this world, it would be an mega super hyper apocalyptic event for all the worlds...
