Like, if an area hasn't been seen by human eyes in 24 hours or something, the human-touched tiles there start going back to their natural state
wait, I thought this was implemented?? or a similar process.
did it get stopped at some stage?
why do you empty a compost pile on the ground?
too often have I seen players, attack the compost pile with just a bowl, fail. Then don't bother to maintain the berry bushes.
Pick it up put it in my backpack and kill the snakes I find when out gathering
make all ingots stackable to 6?
raw materials too?
A way to kill mosquitos
how about
mosquitos die/killed after they bite, but eventually re-spawn
hmmm... who has lived the most lives?
there is steel pipe,
so all that's left is to add tinderbox
and we'll have Wild West of OHOL
Add clothing provides a chance to survive a creature attack and I'll wear it more often.
Otherwise, when out exploring/gathering it's a hassle not worth having.
Most animals will not cross biome boundaries. There are exceptions, like bears.
I believe the determining factor is the "Move Behavior" parameter. "Random" and "Flee" will stay in a single biome, "Chase" will cross biomes.
really,
that explains the 8 stationary wild horses in a town that one time
very hard to find using the default zoom level.
tired of players whining about the zoom level.
the zoom level is fine.
the world of OHOL is a grid, how hard is it to move in a straight line. sure, there are obstacles to route around, but it's just as easy to count how many squares you have been pushed off the original path.
*cough* stone obelisks
in gameplay
stone on ground + flint
stone in the middle of the ground tile
then flint in an offset position
ie south east

I've been spawning there for many lifespans.
Built two Newcomen machines and all the equipment options.
Next goal is to is to secure a Kerosene supply.
There's a new iron mine nth east with a horse fence, and directly east a horse fence next to jungle for rubber
Also building a bell tower, it's 3 levels atm
I'll try to keep my Eve spawn at the location
Yellow Fever
it discourages exploration and expansion.
Too many times I have died after gathering much need iron for the town, only to have to pass through a previously unseen jungle biome to get back to the town. the most direct route.
it's not like I can't dodge the mosquito swarm, but when you get a tight spawn of rubber trees and the auto-pathing takes an unexpected route, straight into a swarm behind foliage. kind ruins the enjoyment.
wonder if it's part of the domestication process
eg.
hungry wild piglet struggles in the hands of the avatar = moving slower
while an unhungry piglet is considered "tamed"
I think the safest option is to only two to three knives in a city and melt down the rest.
I'm pretty sure there is no way of destroying a knife currently.
bananas being endless food sources
maybe have a portion of soil is required to start the fruiting timer?
When the bush is in the middle of the patch it's even worse.
this is the root of the issue.
People stop making large continuous berry patches!!!!!
have a max of 3 rows or 3 cols

One compost pile gives 5 baskets of 3 soil = 15 soil
It costs 1 wheat (2 soil)
2 carrots (2 soil)
2 bowls berries (2 soil if already planted)
= 6 soil **Net Gain of 9 soil or +150% increase on soil invested
**Yes I'm aware it is also iron, wood, water, this is purely on the soil return.
You will not grow a settlement long without both soil and water in good supply
a deep tilled row can be made with just one soil
it just has to be tilled twice
soil->shallow tilled soil->deep tilled row
when there is plenty of iron I always go for one soil twice tilled
Fertile Soil Pit -> Shot Wolf
Skewer -> Canada Goose Pond
Canada Goose Pond -> Beheaded Goose
It comes down to space,
do a gathering run, are going to take a variety of consumables to get/maintain yum bonus.
or
the densest consumable that only takes one storage slot?
in a perfect whole, I would take
- cactus fruit
- baked potato
- roast mutton
- cooked rabbit
example, once consumed, a storage slot is freed up and I don't have to cart an empty plate back to town or add to the expanding 'wild plate population'
but rarely is such a variety available in a town, so a pie it is.
1. Oh look an axe, time for some deforestation
2. Not leaving gaps in farm fields
3. Not returning tools
4. Basket stealing - don't be lazy and make one
5. Making rabbit fur shoes
6. Not letting the rabbit hunter claim the first backpack
7. Filling all the bowls with pork
8. being overly protective of knives/arrows
9. making a Home Marker in the middle of the village
selenastarbuck,
the best way to get help is to describe in detail your issue.
1 - what are you running on? Windows (xp, 7, 8, 10) , linux, OSX, phone?
2 - briefly describe the hardware. intel, amd, on-chip graphic?
3 - "one frame per 30 seconds" does the graphics take a while to appear or is your avatar seems to be "skipping"
