"car part" is the hard part!

EDIT: It would be fun to see horses added to the "Hand Cart With Tires" to make a wagon. Each "horse power" could make it go faster.

#27 Re: Main Forum » What is lineage ban? » 2018-11-22 15:50:53

Chances are the Honas family line died out while you were gone.

The idea behind the game is that life is fleeting and precious, you do the best with what you are born into. If everyone does their best, then a civilization will survive and you may be born into it many times. If everyone dies the civilization dies with them.

Zoom mod is now here:
https://github.com/Awbz/OneLife
https://github.com/Awbz/OneLife/releases/

How to install it with Steam:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1u8lD0F0-I

You will need it to locate the currently over-nerfed iron and scarce pond water.
But do most of your traveling at default view so you can see the disease carrying mosquitoes.

THIS NEEDS LEDERHOSEN!!!

Please please please please love it thank you!!!!

I'm sure how to make leather has already been discussed, just make it into suspender shorts. Because. Love.

Also, dirndl dresses, which could be made from aprons.
apron + apron = drndil dress (holds two items)(could also be dyed various colors)

...And thank you for the majestic turkey update! Seriously so bleeping gorgeous! His fanning tail, his gobbly gobble...

cool You're the best, Jason. cool

IMO the menopause just shouldn't immediately go hand in hand with the inability to breastfeed. Have that go 5 years later and it be fine.

Yes this is a good idea imo. A bit annoying to get a baby at 39 and you can't feed him.

+1 excellent idea

#32 Re: Main Forum » Any advice for helping out a stagnant no milkweed, no sheep village? » 2018-11-20 13:37:03

You should let the sheep free-roam and build a tiny pen around the carrot patch.
Sheep don't really wander off much, and sheep only eat carrots patches.
That way uses up way less resources and gets your town to shepherding and compost much faster.

#33 Re: Main Forum » Do jungles ruin the game? » 2018-11-20 13:26:09

I think it's clever how the tiny mosquitoes force users to play without a zoom mod.
A vaccine system would be cool though... so we could have more types of disease in the future. tongue
The bananas are so needed for new player survival at the moment. Thank you for that!

I've wanted to do the math, but haven't gotten around to it. I guess I'll just ask, though: is compost sustainable? Is the cost of producing compost via expending resources on berries, carrots, and wheat less than the berries, carrots, and wheat produced by said compost? Or does it eventually run out eventually somewhere along the chain, like natural water and soil?

Yes. Compost is very sustainable.
For any city to survive you must have a shepherd who tends the compost.

#36 Re: Main Forum » Do jungles ruin the game? » 2018-11-20 04:38:14

I love the jungles. Lived to old age, dodged all the bugs while trying to find iron. I never got sick. No mods. Just paying attention.
There's not enough iron though! Not enough iron is ruining the game!

#37 Re: Main Forum » NSFW BOOBY PALOOZA » 2018-11-20 03:32:09

All the bodies are the same. Boobies are all the same. Peepees are all the same.
The head gets higher on the body as you age. I do think it's a neat illusion of perkiness in youth though. tongue
Let's get a genetics system for body parts too!

#38 Re: Main Forum » Do dogs die over time now? [suggestion for dog improvement in post#4] » 2018-11-19 02:08:30

If you take a puppy from their mother you must feed the puppy carnitas (cooked pork) or it will starve to death.
Dogs die of natural old age after 30 minutes (30 in game years.)

Every time I have rolled the darkest skinned character, there has been a racist...

I think that wouldn't be such a problem if there was more than one black character. Brown and white characters have six characters each (if you consider ginger a mutation) which means there needs to be three black women and two more black men added to be on par with everyone else. It would also be nice to see a ginger man, and maybe an albino couple as well for super rare mutations. Again, this could be vastly speeded up with a genetics system.

Also, roll back the iron nerf please. The new people are obviously frustrated when they can't actually craft anything because resources are next to impossible to find. Requiring old pros with mods to fetch iron all the time is bad game play.

Beyond that I'm sick of the sound of constantly suiciding babies. Maybe make it less... rusty sounding? A tiny gasp of air as they expire would be nice and subtle without giving them too much attention.

I do like to see all the wonderfully populated servers, and I love all the chaos of discovery they bring. smile

#40 Re: Main Forum » A little concern » 2018-11-16 13:01:27

The game shouldn't require mods to be playable.

#41 Re: Main Forum » Jason's Radio Silence on Iron » 2018-11-16 12:49:14

Ya, it is very strange to make the game harder during an influx of new players. I would think retention would be the goal, and if anything make it easier given the steep learning curve for crafting. Without players actually making things they'll never see what the game has to offer. MAKE IRON GREAT AGAIN!!!

#42 Re: Main Forum » This week? » 2018-11-14 19:28:29

The "Games of Chance" update gives me great hope that genetics could be implemented soon.
Allowing the game to draw from an array of traits and exponentially increase character variation.

But ya, until then. I demand a black lady and a ginger man, please and thank you!

#43 Re: Main Forum » The baby boom solution » 2018-11-14 19:09:42

Birth control has been suggested before. A fig leaf to prevent babies if you don't want them.
The current birth rate is perfect considering no birth control!

#46 Re: Main Forum » Bear Stew! » 2018-11-09 13:02:37

The video was recreating the bear stew in RDR2 which required three types of meat, but we don have venison. We do have bears though! ... and we leave them to rot, while we starve! It would be nice to not be so wasteful.

#47 Re: Main Forum » Steam release day » 2018-11-08 23:42:45

LOL, my first Steam arrival in the game was being born to the sound of mass murder in Amos Town. Death cries and bloody bones everywhere. Several people wielding knives. Curses flying. Bears on the loose. Suiciding babies. Some kid picking up and dropping bowls constantly. Ahhhh it was just like the old days ... love it. smile

OHOL has nearly all the ingredients for this tasty Bear Stew!

onions
carrots
rabbit
BEAR!!!

The only things we're missing is celery, tomatoes, and venison.
Deer would be lovely to have in the game!
Onions need to be made farmable and then with celery and tomatoes we could make a nice vegetable soup too.

At 5:39 he notices he forgot the mushrooms... but we've got that covered!
