Wow, wasn't aware of all that chaos that came before my time. Super grateful to you, Amina and Lisa, for taking care of me so I could live! I'm sad I didn't get the arrows made in time to kill the bear before it wiped everyone out. I told people to stay away from it and if needed remain on farm tiles to not die. It was a nice village in a very good location. There were still natural resources too nearby. It would've thrived it people had avoided the bear.

From the moment I was born, the village was in chaos. Blood coated the ground and bodies lay in massive heaps. There was arguing and my mother swiftly carried me off into the wilderness. I clung to my mom for safety. We survived for a while but mom was unable to support us both. She never let go of me, however. In her desperate attempt to save us both she died on her way back to the village. I was left stranded, unable to feed myself and alone. I wandered to the village, weak and starving. There was a cozy desert tile to stand on and I waited.

No one was in sight and all was quiet. I assumed the worst, but then the sound of footsteps came nearby. On unsteady legs, I wobbled to the source to find an elderly relative. I cried for food and she took pity on me. She fed me and along with another elder lady to help, I grew up. They told me I was the last baby. The last girl. And later found it was the same relatives that were my saviors, that had murdered so many. It was 'needed' apparently, so I meekly agreed. When they passed on, I got both of their knives and clothes.. and I was determined to bring the village back from ruin.

As I worked other long-lost relatives returned. They too had fled during the chaos and survived. Together the village was bustling once more and I took up the job of caring for sheep, smithing and making food. It was a good life from that point on. Having three kids (one died and was reborn to me moments later), I lived out my life happy. I was content knowing the work of former generations would not go to waste.

But fate can be unkind. First, a cousin stumbled into camp, bleeding from a bear wound. We had no medical supplies to help heal her just yet, so she perished. From that point, I set out to make arrows to take down the bear. I had finished one when my eldest daughter stumbled into camp, dying. I wept as she took her final breath in my arms. I was determined now for vengeance and was hard at work. By the time I finished all three arrows, I returned in time to hear the death cries of my only other daughter near the farm. Everyone was dead and I could not find the bear, try as I might.

I was a frail old woman at this point. My bones ached and my entire family was gone. With what life I had left I buried what family I could to the North of the village. I died alone by the graves of my daughters. The last words uttered on my breath an apology.

Signing off, Firdaws Pharo

My internet decided to give out on me due to the weather. I was old but had 10 years left to go. There was so much more I wanted to do for my family and say. I'm sorry that grizzly bear came and killed a few of you. I shot it with an arrow. It vanished somewhere while I was making a second arrow. I tried though to avenge you, big brother. Two of my kids ran off as babies, I'm sorry you missed out on the fun you'd have had if you stayed. It was a good life and a small village.

My other children did well and I'm so proud of you all! I hope you manage to live to an elderly age. I hope work continues on the hospital building I started. I managed to gather some needle, thread, and pads for you before I left.

I saw the void and it swallowed me whole. I was getting up there anyways though and had little time left. I hope you found my things to pass on to your own kids.

Thank you for giving me one of my better lives in the game. It was fun and you were all good babs.

Love, Mom Onna

Oh man, wow I'm sorry it went down that way. I was Gigi II. I had a lot of fun this life honestly.

I was born to my mother and Gigi right after by a distant cousin. I promised to marry her when we got older. I spent a lot of time fixing up the sheep so I could make Ginny an apron to propose with. And she accepted. I helped gather things for a little set up to the North she and someone else had been managing for the last years of my life.

I'm glad I was able to get healed after I was stabbed, but died shortly after from old age. Little said mini Ginny didn't survive.

It was still a lot of fun though. Sorry the line had to die out that way though. Yikes.

My brother Grigor was a cool dude and I didn't realize I had another brother that I was the namesake of. I realized after he died. Lol. Sorry my dude.

I'm not very computer savvy, so I don't know much honestly. But I can confirm having NVIDIA graphics card messes things up sometimes. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 730

If I alt tab or move the game window at all it'll automatically make me sync to detect FPS. I usually have to do it a few times. And lately my games have been starting black with a huge delay. Like I'll hear the sounds of the game and everything but my screen stays black for up to a minute sometimes.

I always play in window mode, I've never tried full screen.

I try to teach when I can afford to. Sometimes things get too chaotic to keep up with it fully. I always try to at least tell them the basics about farming. Not watering what you can't pick as they will seed, waste soil or despawn. Leaving a seeding row separate from the rest. Not to overpopulate as it will kill out the family, etc.

Ironic to this topic I died last night while teaching one of my kids. I got so wrapped up in trying to explain how to farm and the basic controls of the game, that I forgot to eat and starved. Aha. I like to think maybe they were able to learn, even if it was only a little bit from a short time.

I witnessed that chaos. I think I called you a turd. Ended up dying because of you though, barely got hair on my head before I starved due to clutter.

I actually like this idea! Or if not this there needs to be a tutorial area or something to help out new players.

#34 Re: Main Forum » Sol family » 2018-05-14 17:53:11

I was Urban Sol, gen 2

I spent most of my life just gathering things for the place like seeds, rabbits and soil and trying to organize the farm more. I brought over a lot of soil from the large plains nearby and helped grow and organize some of the farms. It was such a super nice family honestly and when I went I gave my backpack and clothes to one of my nephews I think. I don't remember who, but I just let myself starve at the ripe age of 59 near the farm watching my family for the last seconds of my life. Was nice tho, got to tell everyone bye and I love them before I went.

We had a stone house going, a bell tower started, tools, carts and everything. It was really nice and I've never seen a family progress so quickly before! You all did so well.

@Morti -
You were a good mom and I recall you constantly offering advice about the farm and telling my siblings and I to keep seed back ups. It's a shame no one really listened though. I know I spent a good chunk of my life guarding some seed rows so we wouldn't all die for a famine.

Ah so you were my mysterious nehpew I only met once! lol. I remember you coming down to us in a reed skirt the first time I think. By that time  we had a forge and everything going and I was almost dead. We were just too focused on advancing we honestly didn't pay too much mind at the time. The area wasn't very great though at all and I remember telling people they'ed need to move further down the lines after getting some advancements. It just was where I was born so I stayed tbh.

Sucks it ended that way though. D:

This family line on server 1 earlier today.

I was born in generation 5, so I wasn't the founder of this little family. It was only me and my mother when I was born. The first thing she told me is that we were the last of her family. There was a farm and some basic things, but nothing advanced. My mom spent most of her life tending to the farm, especially when I was younger. I had some siblings, but none of them lived for long or stuck around at all. I had a nephew that lived to be very old apparently though! But I never saw him at all after he grew up sadly.

During my quest to help advance this small, basic village into something suitable, I ended up having eight kids in total. Over half of them went nameless an abandoned due to food scarcity. I only ended up having one girl. The three kids I raised, Oak, Kestrel and Sparrow, proved to be a blessing. They helped out so so much. I haven't had such competent kids in such a long time and they were really fun to play with, even if I didn't get to talk with them much between my frantic runs to start milkweed and berry farms before I died. I'm not sure how Oak died, but he was there one minute and gone the next. Before I died myself I witnessed to grandsons and my remaining son came to me to show off his progress. And I got to tell him and his sister both how proud I was of them.

I died shortly after because food got tight and I didn't really want to take up any more resources for you guys. I was going to eat a carrot to give myself time to say good bye, but died mid run to it. So I died suddenly without getting to say goodbye or offering any last minute advice. When I died though my son had made tools with my forge, my daughter was watering the milkweed and I had barely started a meager berry farm.

The family seems to have died out though at generation 9, but I'd love to know what went on further down the lines! Some of the last words paint a pretty grim future. Lol.

But I just wanted to thank my kids for being so helpful. You made this life play through enjoyable. Sorry I couldn't do more for you guys!

<3 Mom

I'm not going to say I'm fond of all of the updates lately, but I know the game is still new and being built every day. It's not going to be 'perfect' in a single day, nor will it ever be perfect to everyone. You can't please everyone. That's just how it is. I don't have much to say that hasn't been said by others honestly.

I jut wanted to say thank you. I appreciate the time and dedication you put into the game though. You've put out a lot of updates and coding changes weekly and I do see you pop into the Discord once in awhile to communicate. You even reply on the forums too. That's way more then a lot of other game designers and teams do. Things may not be ideal for everyone right now, but it'll get better. I have faith in you.

That'd be fun. I'd be interested in it if this happens.

#39 Re: Main Forum » More Characters, And Genetics! » 2018-04-18 19:43:12

Yes please! I'd love some more options when it comes to characters, even if only a few. And the idea of genetics is super cool. That'd be awesome to see implemented.

#40 Re: Main Forum » Missed Connections » 2018-04-14 06:46:55

To my sons Atticus and Tiberius in my latest game on Server 2. You were both good sons, I'm sorry I only managed to have four kids and your two sisters both suicided after birth. Our family was doomed. You both did so well during your short lives into adulthood. A bear ended up coming and killing you both before I could ask if you were on the Discord or forums. I made arrows to avenge you, but by that time was too old and died mid-fight with the bear.

#41 Re: Main Forum » What do you name your kids? » 2018-04-14 03:12:36

I typically try to name unique things. As of lately my go-to names for boys and Tiberius and Aitticus if I keep any. My girls are almost always Annabelle, Addilynn or Nyx. Normally it's just whatever favorite name of mine that comes to mind at the time. Last name I usually do nature theme, I've tried Yarrow a few time, but I don't get to be an eve very often.
