This happened to me today as well. Mom bit as I'm carried, starve, respawn next to my bones as Mom drops dead lol
Ah you did good, not your fault, you can choose your friends but you def can't choose you OHOL family....
I'm seeing a lot more fresher kids these days, having to teach soil and basic farm and water containers a lot. But that's no bad thing, more noobs = growing community
Same, not suicide last two or three times got born there I've got stuff n made a beeline for the exit, gone as far as I can before setting up something new.
Zed - "incapacitation and imprisonment, and perhaps the old
idea of preventing suicide so imprisonment can be a real punishment."
I love the idea of keeping some caught griefer in a cage next to where the babies campfire is.
'Who's that in the cage mom?'
'Oh just some asshole that stabbed your uncle.. We're force feeding him berries so he can't respawn. YOU best be a good boy now y'hear?'
Get them to mock him, throw water pouches and rotten fruit... Culture
Other players around would have knifes in backpack. You get used to the sound of the scream...
Sounds good
Hi Grandma,
My mom Hope gave birth to me, you said you had been abandoned and had built the settlement yourself, it was my legacy to keep it going. Mom n me told you to pick your own name, but you just said to call me Legacy.
Well, it wasn't easy, not long after you passed Blue made a knife and went on a spree, I tried to bait him away from the village so he might get lost in the wilds if no home marker. I gave him the slip and doubled back to get the bow but by the time I got back to the village he had killed my daughter Future..
I killed him there as he was spouting self important bullshit about his genius masterplan as my daughter perished. Only myself and uncle Berry survived to rebuild.
My next daughter I renamed Future in honour of the first, she was such a good promising child, she died cooking eggs..
I had more kids, taught them how to make wells and carts, we had a full set of tools before I passed. It was looking good for the future, grandkids were running around. Looking at the tree now I'm not so sure..

Sorry I gave it my best shot
Legacy
Ah nice, good to know.
Ah, knowledge! ty
Been keeping an eye on the server pop over the last week, checked today and we've got a 66/33% split on servers 1 & 2.
Is this because we have higher overall pop now or is there a breakaway group? lol
Ah that's so cool, never get to see what happens after you die, I think your idea about a screen shot thread, similar to the Missed connections but with photos is a great one - Call it - Town Transformations
just checked that steam post
"Your characters lives a full life in 60 hours, from a baby born from another player to old age, if you don't get eaten by a wolf of dies from starvation before that."
might want to edit the 60 hour part
how do I bump it?
GJ son, he made it to 60
I took a couple month break n came back recently. I've certainly been finding a lot of newer players since coming back
If at birth you've been taken to a nice warm spot by the desert and asked if you were experienced and if not what you've wanted to learn it coulda been me.
Been trying to do it every birth I'm not flat out busy or bout to starve on.
Investing time in the new guys can be a frustrating juggling experience sometimes, but it's the best way to grow the community.
Just had my last born as I turned grey, nursed him to infancy with berries. I explained the town I was born into had hit a famine do I had taken to the wilderness to forage to survive, but had lost the town in the process and had restarted. My daughter got bit by a snake so he was the end of the lineage for me at least.
Asked if he was experienced, no, what could I help teach? Fire - ok so he's either trolling or fresh as a daisy.
We made fire, got soil, planted crops, each step he was attentive and gave me some happy responses. The farm was established and growing so he should be self sustainable. It's 20 or so mins ago since I died and he's still alive, so I was feel safe to say I wasn't getting trolled.
Just made me think something around this playstyle could be a nice potential, optional sort of tutorial? Have an option as an established player to set up as an eve and have another option as u load in to be a male apprentice. So they have a small crossover period where the mom is getting established, but not overrun by constant babies before they're able to support them. Can rear an inexperienced player and teach them basics or whatever then as the mom dies they are left to stay alive and experiment in the environment around them with out the constant birth, starve, die, repeat.
Don't know how of if that's even possible with the current player base and game design, just throwing out an idea bouncing round in me noggin.
Hey just noticed this post, think it was me!

Awesome work! I think it may have been Trinity I ran from, or one of the other big towns. I headed directly East from it hence your brothers name. Called him East but it came out Eastan.
I took the axe and cut trees along the route so some of us could have followed it back and pilfered loot from the hated town of old as we grew. But I obviously 'got hog cut' before I got to explain and got things up n running.
This game... It keeps on giving me big smile surprises! XD
Nice Redbug, that made me smile from here to (corn)ear!
Oddly this isn't the first time I've been in a YT vid due to my parenting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs7cqO6utHo&t=821s
Jump to 11:40 - I'm the mom teaching her bby how to make compost, this actually inspired the vid creator to make some.In the time it took him to make one pile my new apprentice and myself had already got 5 on the go ha. We actually got slowed down by him taking the shovel. @ 22:45
Jason, you should put this video on the front page of the game site ;D
Perfect little chunk of OneLife there imo
Holy shit bro! I'm Mom...
Awesome work on the vid, I was watching that hunger bar all the way on it ha. Gutted you didn't make it back but perfect end to the vid. Sorry we didn't get to grow together, we coulda made a difference... XD
Berry farms are also easy to grief with. So many times I've been force fed a berry every 1 food pip as well as all the babies and people around by some random, without anyone paying attention to it. Kills water supply then starvation hits, all the while people still smashing the berries down their mouths and not refilling despite soil and buckets of water being right there.
Yeah big town, zero fucks given by people...
So.……

I was born to a nameless mother near the bakery, I recognised the town from previous lives, I had been here many times before. Several times previously I had lived lives of fixing problems griefers have caused, the famines, I had been murdered her. Yes I knew this place..
I was dumped on the green grass no more than 5 tiles from a fire. I ran in and sat next to my older brother. He was also nameless and asking to be fed. Nothing out of the normal here so far, moms are busy right? Not anticipating two small humans popping out of them in quick succession, maybe she's finishing off a project?
I watched her and the baker as I grew, he was frantic, working like a machine, I liked him. Mom on the other hand was well... Less constructive.
Bro was getting anxious, F, F, FFF, !!! A stranger fed us. Mom continued pottering and not getting much done.
Bro had been crying for a name as well, I was more patient. The stranger started arguing with Mom, 'Feed ur fucking kids!' 'And fucking name them!' She finally picked up my brother gave him something offensive without the [you are] bit.
Think it was N* related. I remained silent...
Around this time a stranger with a horse proclaimed 'The horse wants the baby!' He brought it over and started bumping into me. 'Uh' 'oh' I spoke for the first time. This went on for a while...
Bro was pissed, I could tell. He got old enough to fend for himself and stormed off.
I was hungry, Mom finally come to feed me but the milk wasn't flowing? She picked me up twice with no food. 'not' 'wrk' 'not' 'fed' '!!!' The horse rapist picked me up. (oh ffs what now!) He ran to the berries and fed me on one food bar thus saving my life. Crap. He put food in his backpack and took me back to the horse... I was ashamed but felt I owed him... I bumped up against the horse a few times. 'Yes! That's it! Good girl...' (I shuddered)
This was all before I had my hands to use and my feet to run with. I grew and ran from the bad man and the bad mother wondering what the latest version of hell this life would bring.
I saw my brother at the furnace, I knew he already had plans for revenge. 'Bro' He remained silent. 'Bro pls talk with me'
He fashioned the steel into a file then ran off. I wanted to warn people but at the same time I didn't want to warn them. I lost my brother for a while, later I saw him with a goose, then blade blanks. 'Bro pls, I know you have plans' He ran from me still.
I wanted to reason with him, most times the griefers are just assholes, Some have with their own agenda. I don't condone but I can assume SOME players have plans (in their own minds) far above 'regular' gameplay, killing off towns refreshes gameplay, new camps, new designs, fresh resources etc.
This however was a pure revenge story but I wanted to engage with Bro to try and get and idea of his thinking. I assumed he would be taking out dear old Mom then the horse rapist soon thereafter but would he stop there??
I heard a scream, ran to find him in stunned state and who I though was mom had been stabbed. I followed him out of town pleading with him. Guiltily I fed him as he ran 'and the bad man?' I said. He was next I could tell. He had the knife with it in his hand standing next to me, told me to hand over my apron to hide the knife. I gave it to him.
(At some point during all this I had a child, lost him in the fight and thought he also died. Just saw he made 60, GJ son, sorry I repeated my own poor start as mom befell on me.)
I took a bloodied backpack from a victim then popped out a second baby. Oh jeeses….
I couldn't talk to bro and look after baby. He threatened me for the backpack 'you wanna die too!' as he hid in a bush. I had enough, I ran. He wasn't going to stop! He was another bad man..
He killed the horse rapist in front of everyone. It wasn't long after he was slain but I think he had killed more. I took my daughter out of town and called her Destiny, explained my troubled past and its heavy burden on my mind. Said it was her destiny to live a good and valuable life to make up for my mistakes. She died at 15 whilst trying to look for tools for the fire, sigh.
My next four babies suicided on me as if they knew I wasn't worth it. I grew grey hair, I stopped having kids.
I found a baby later in life, nameless all alone in the berries. Waited by her for a while, no one came. Dam this town I thought to myself, it's cursed! 'All alone bby?' I asked, they obviously were. I raised them as my own, I always ask if someone's experienced and if they want to learn anything. Smithing was the reply. I spent my last years teaching them the process and we made several tools for the town.
Checked the family tree and my Bro's final words were 'Death to black n*' Big sigh, thought that sort of thing would be blanked out to be honest.
Overall quite a disturbing first half of life, not helped by myself tbh, anyway, moving on....
So I just had a great little start up location going, ponds for days, other perfect starting resources a plenty, saw two iron veins nearby next to each other.
Only to have 7 out my 8 kids as boys. The only girl was my second born who wasn't kept as 'Home' was a far away concept at that point in the life.
The only son I kept lived to see me pass as I tried to teach him how to make a shovel (GJ btw Son)
Cheers OHOL RNG
