Now instead of just qin town you'll have a bunch of slum like villages connected to a m ain big city or worse yet you'll see a bunch of noob villages where smart players flee to the big bell town to actually ignore the issues at the new player village.  The fact you need to find an usused spring near a badlands, which is close but not too close to a big city makes the whole fun of fishing communities fade.

See I disagree there, about the slum village part, but we're just gonna have to wait and see.

I dont see the bell town being the size of a private server city, like one city servers city, or those old server 15 cities. I see bell town big still, but not WEEKS worth of concentrated work like it's been. I see smaller towns picking up the slack and getting better and bigger.

Part of what I like to do is leave a town with its own impression or imprint of me being there, and it sucks ass when its in the same spot the next week and me and everyone have built and overloaded way more space than we EVER have in this game. It would be one thing if other living towns were probable and bell town just got to big, but like I said right now it's bell town or bust. If you have a town right now that is not bell town, you can bet that everyone is going to eventually run to the bell and abandon it. So why try to make any town that wasn't the bell?

That is why I like this change.

I'm sorry you lost those aspects of fishing though, and maybe it should be a bit larger of an area.

Fishing to you in this game has to be comparable to fruitboots with me. So I understand your pain to a degree. I wish I had a pair every life, and you can bet your bottom dollar that if ANY opportunity presents itself to get them, I'll do what it takes. Obviously I cant have them every life anymore.. and a part of me wishes I could just VOG them in somehow.. but it did make the times that I do have them that much sweeter, and actually gave them considerable value to me.

Point is..brave this damn carrot and stick storm and we'll get more fancy things like those boots and more activities like fishing.

It's about fixing the exploit of smart players just grouping players up to avoid the shitty racial restrictions. More crap, less fun essentially. Basically kills off any little fishing villages unless you move them really far from town or anything like little homes near towns.

Prepare for everyone to dick around the berry farm so they can potentially have kids instead of working.

It still eliminates a one town system which is a huge problem. It's no longer qin town or bust.

Eve CAN make her own startup now and not have everyone just run to the bell. Sure it's STILL better to group around a bell to an extent, but now the world outside of the bell will definitely open up. The Eve actually has the option, "should I start my own place? Or should I go find an abandoned well" which is better than "oh I'm eve.. better run to the bell"

I see the positives too here and I've seen quite a few people not liking the ONE city policy that tends to happen now. I kinda didn't like it either.

Also tarrhed, anytime I'm ginger now I'm going to find a way to bring fishing to the other villages for ya. I'll do what it takes and set it as my mission.

Ah... I see someone went to my shrine and got it.

I put it behind the cross of the boot and told the discord I left them gifts there.

Dung nabit..

That new name tag system seems quite nifty, along with everything else.

We're getting close to the end of that list too!

As someone who played minecraft right after the alpha released (yes there were multiplayer servers in 2010) I can definitely see some similarities.. however you have to know a few things.

Notch began working on it as a side project by himself, and actually had a job at the time he was making it. He ended up quitting his job because of the explosive alpha sales. He began to bring in other people to a company that he already had from previous work called mojang. This is the point where he starts to take his hand off the wheel and let his employees of his new company start to steer the direction a bit.

Now this is also the point where youtube videos start to get this game even more popular, and its starting to become the craze that it will become. At this point notch throws his hands up and gives all creative control to a guy named jeb. This is right around the time that the game releases from beta. The last real thing that notch touched in that game were the enderman, because they were in development in alpha, but didn't make it until beta. You know the history after that, mojang sells to Microsoft and they don't add anything or try things until they're basically forced to.

What happened the moment notch stepped down was stagnating progress, and trying to piece together an idea that was incomplete.

It would be like if Francis Coppola only got half of the story to write the godfather, and had to make up the rest. Or if Van Gogh only painted the village in starry night and handed it to another artist to fill the sky.

That's what happened to minecraft.

If notch didn't bail halfway through his game, it would have been something completely different and probably at least 4 times better.

Now the contrast for notch and jason?

If Jason's game blew up to that same degree, or bombs and flames into the ground, he's not going to cut and run and sell out. He's going to be jason and keep doing what he wants to.

And that is my favorite aspect of him.. hell any artist that is just willing to stick to their art.

This game doesn't have 10k craftable objects, but such ad can attract people to buy this game.

That's why I told spoon to wait until the game is done. As far as I  know those 10k objects are still a goal.

That trailer spoon's talking about basically implies that we're working towards that many, while it proceeds to show you every item that launched with the game, and say that he plans to add 100 new items every week.

The 100 item a week thing is the biggest thing you can criticize in the whole thing, and I'm pretty sure I've even seen jason admit here he was too ambitious to think he could do that many.

I think it has to do with the Catalina OS.

If I remember right, they got completely rid of the ability to run 32bit things.

I think ive seen people solve it for this game by downloading either awbz's or whatever's client (mod).

Oi thanks for finding qin.

We all got pushed about 2k away at reset yesterday, and the towns we found weren't familiar enough to find our way back.

Dud plz

You might as well be mad at a BUNCH of developers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i-4foLur0g

Bungie straight up made you think that this was going to be the halo 2 campaign in this demo trailer, and guess what, it wasn't.. Did they willingly deceive, or just have to change things due to variables? I think it's more towards the latter.

The original gears of war concept trailer was fighting the darkness. The level where you have to stay in light or be devoured was THE ORIGINAL GAME.

Point is things change.. why don't you wait till this game is finished to go after the "hur dur this is false advertising" claim.

each sector would be separated on the map, like a mini rift, only that you would be able to travel in between them via tech, the rides would cost money which would be work-based, like doing quests

The sky lift south costs 2 fruitboots and a bottle of horse blood.

Rip zucc n succ. You were the oldest continually populated city. You had your rises and falls, your share of love and hate, and your own beauty and ugliness.

Time to begin anew.

#120 Re: News » Update: No Solo » 2020-02-14 07:20:56

I think this will definitely eliminate those single murders, but at the same time I feel like we've lost a freedom due to bad characters.

I recall a life a long time ago where I made fun of someone who was proud of planting a gigantic field of berries. When I began to joke about the compost requirements of the village he snapped, and stabbed me of course. I was avenged right after by someone else who knew how ridiculous the fields were, but still I REMEMBER that life and it will stick with me. I was mad then, but I laugh and reminisce about it now.

I feel like that situation has been eliminated. Personal arguments can't be solved by force unless you say "meet me outside of town" which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you are. I know certain people are going to be pissed that they cant "stab this dumbass shearing all the sheep" and certain people are going to like it immensely because that drama won't affect bystanders as much.

Tldr

I can see positives and negatives here.

Couldn't he make himself unkillable if he needee

I dont think he always spawns them.

What's the fun in him being unkillable?

#122 Re: Main Forum » Meeting the Jason » 2020-02-12 16:29:02

Just to say hi really.

Everyone typically crowds around him in the town and scares him to the outskirts. When i met him ingame he forgot to give himself the language specialty, so he couldn't communicate with anyone. There were already a few people exclaiming " oh god it's jason, get him!" I still gave him my bag with a knife and he gave me a smile and ran back into town holding an upside down knife. Less than a min later someone ended up killing him. Right after he died there was the wrath of the creator in the form of about 10 bears. The town lost a family and was in chaos for a generation or two.

You can also search his name on the family tree and see when he lived his last life.

I was seeing talk on the discord about people mutually cursing eachother, so they can identify eachother in next lives. It might have backfired.

The first must be Jason! hahahaha

While he isn't banned, the jason character might as well have a bullseye painted on his shirt. I dont think I've ever seen jason not get killed when he stumbles into the village. I saw him get to old age once, but someone still shot him down before natural causes.

Heh.. most of the time its for that damn hat.

#125 Re: Main Forum » To all the people who just cursed Bobby Quant... » 2020-02-11 04:08:38

Aww.. legitimately tell your ma sorry for me.

Ive had Similar situations forsure and I'm sure many vets like your mom have to run into it. It definitely sucks to have everyone be manipulated by someone into going after you. Sometimes it's done completely maliciously, but I've honestly seen a few people in game (and even a streamer) be wayyyy to cop like and look for people doing bad things. They dont mean to stir up everything in their heart of hearts, but end up going after ther wrong person and confuse evidence.
