Steel hoe should really have more uses. They break more than any other steel tool and RNG can kill them faster than a skewer. I've seriously had one break after six uses.
Yap i feel that. Just thought about making a run and spamming ton of shovels, hoes, axes and some chisels/froes. Dont get it when people smith they just do few tools or tools on demand. We should have shit ton of the basic tool available all time if not low on iron.
I mean c'mon smiths do your craft!
Why would you ever make extra froes? Nothing makes me cringe more than a bunch of extra froes and adzes just sitting around existing forever.

Guess you build fugly ass pine flooring to everywhere. Its for freaking boards! Buckets, carts, doors, flooring, signs...

its really the same 15 people
and who are those 15?
theres almost more different people even replying to this post...
Some people just dont write that much as other and just lurk most of the time.
Theres really almost never lack of tools, towns have usually ton of iron and in eve camps you got acces to ton of skewers for tilling.
So tilling one soil should be still meta even if tilling 2 soils would be possible.

I think this would be a small but powerful change. Everyone should automatically follow their MOTHER. Not their mother's leader. The first leader is the Eve.
Oh, this sounds like an excellent idea!
hate to bump this necro thread again, but...

I'd turn the question around.
Why would you kill all the people?
Please answer i want a insight into call of duty kid thoguht process.

Feel free to use for your hermit runs or whatver you needs to be done. Please dont mess up too much XD.
Two wells down and west from bell town. Locked with G lock, its behind the top right corner of the smith room, leave it there when you done pls...
Looks nice, but is about as usable as a Mini as a station wagon.
Was born there a few hours ago. Needless to say it didn't take long of dealing with literally no space till everyone there moved to the nearby bell town. Gma gave it a go though, and tried breaking down the plaster walls to make more space, but it wouldn't have been even remotely close to enough, even if she had succeeded in taking all of them down.
I get that it was never meant for more than 1-2 people, but any kind of building like that with a full set of farms, animals, etc. is a noob trap that just leads to possibly generations of families living in an agony of stunted potential and hours of inconvenience. Probably best to not even build such contraptions, at least not too far from towns for noobs to settle them as their own separate settlements.
Well its not designed for ton of people. Its designed for max 3 people at a time. Sometimes i pop bebes when i work there and they all stay and it gets overcrowded.
God damn they broke the walls? Prolly let the animals loose too... Made the adobe walls to have more storage space there as its tiny
Also its not even that far from town XD Can't build too near either as everything just gets ruined constanly. (im making more room derp derp)
Also dont know how logn people have had time to clutter it and "make more room". Usually i have ton of cleanup to do after people. They transform my chest into carts and put everything out of its place. Haul the place full of random niche things.
XD
Well learned my lesson, dont pop babyes in there...
oh wow didnt even realize
the F spoonwood...
im also having serious disconnect issues when in bell town.
Use mobile internet tho, but it doesnt happen that often and repeatedly anywhere else. Its like 5s gameplay reconnect till i get out of the main town radius.
Im cool with everything else but 1 dollar one life.
The two families on a server sound really neat idea.
One dollar one life sounds freaking awful to me. If it goes to that its insta quit for me.
Im not in a position where i can just dump money in games so i mostly play free to play games. This game and few other indie titles are the only games i bought recently. Bringging constant cash drain to the game would be tilting. Maybe i'd drop euro/dolla there and there to log in and just make everyone life as misserable as i can to let off some steam.

Its not that people wouldn't have the skills, but the game as it is now just doesnt support it. Its constant dance on hunger (either you or the pupil), you cant write long senteces as a kid and stuff is pretty complicated and the vocabulary is vast.
Usually you get twice as much done by just doing it yourself than trying to recruit people on your cause.
im getting the same crash. Happens exactly as in the first post described.
It looks like we have veteran players who know what to do, but no way for them to teach other people?
Let's assume the hierarchy system will actually work, and Alice, a veteran player, will become everyone's leader. What would be the best way to organize a town full of noobs? Again, assuming that they only know basics but are willing to do what she tells them to do.
If ~30 minutes of teaching is not enough, and she'll get more done by doing everything on her own, then maybe we need to make training easier. What would be the perfect tool for teaching people really fast?
Simple orders so those are easily understood. Like
1. We gonna build a wall gather big rocks
2. Get stones for cisterns
3. Big pen underwork, get sticks
4. We are improving our road network, get flats
5. We need more carts, get log and rope
6. Alert low on water, get rubber/buckets/etc
7. Trying to connect to other familys, spread out!
8. Huge engine works under progress need iron.
and so on...
The new and improved west side fam house is up again.
Feel free to use for your hermit runs or whatver you needs to be done. Please dont mess up too much XD.

i've literally had a house on top of west well of 2 bell towns now, and it never ran empty. People are just blind and dont know what they are doing. Towns dont actually even starve out that hard, its just that some people never even leave the town and if the towns cisterns dry up they are helpless.
*dyes out of starvation backbag full of pies*
Also people just make terrible decisions. Just was in eve camp where people farm milkweed... Literally 6 ropes worth of milkweed in the same biome and you decide to farm it, wasting early farm pond water on ropes that are already in the same biome XD
If end tech is useless it will never see daylight. Buff kerosene longevity on cars and planes to make em viable!
yap the global radius would be somewhat gamebreaking. Maybe if there is a way to limit the message to few hundred tiles from the leader it would serve its purpose better without totally breaing the game.
I mean sure but, they are not used for non-cars either. I've seen oil used one time... to power a well. Most of the time an engine powered well is a death sentence for the water in that town.
I definitely agree that the time per usage is ridiculous (2 minutes per kerosene? lol).
Do you even play this game?
There ha been several towns with diesel pump running for generations...
Its "end tech" for a reason.
Also those things are so useless at the moment that the people who can actually make them tend not to. I've build dozens of engines but never made it to a car. The engine serves just much better as a pump. If you make a car you eventually are just making a tool of grieffing as people just burn all the oil that could be used to water for pointless joy rides.
Maybe if the kerosene use duration on car would be much much longer people would consider these as an option for transportation.
Like lets say you put kerosene to a car and it will run one lifetime (hour). This way you could actually consider the option of cars super fast speed over the horse cart. With time being the kerosene consumption is just too over the top to ever consider using em. Dont know if we would lose even more cars to even further distances, but hey thats the nature of the game with every item. Eventually some moron picks it up and drops it into his/her retarded den or fails it somehow.
XD
Cant say anything else but GG WP Tim Winters.
If you did this really solo, without any sort of bug abuse thats sort of an achievement, with all the mechanics we have now. Killing is really hard with the slow system and people actually knowing how to use pads and healing stuff, you actually need to mess up in several fields to die.
Would deffinetly bring a twist to the game.
Really capable leaders could make huge off meta things happen with this.
+1
The EZ mode playes a big part in this.
Just makes things, too... EZ
Miss the challenge, but dont really miss the "killers". The whole pvp mechanic is just too suited for killing. Tho nowdayes its much harder as you are so slow when solo. Ofc you can stabby stab unexpecting nobos down like butter with hot knife, but to kill a experienced player in a town with healing suplies demands convoluted planing and i like that aspect.
Feel like, everytime im not in a huge bell town or so people just SID in hopes of getting to a town with everything ready. If im nomading stuff from town outskirts-->SID. I damn well can feed my bebe in the wild too, but its just too ez to die and not take the walk.
SIDing is damn too easy. There really should be somekinda penalty on just dying constantly.
Essentially you are killing off eve camps and early promissing towns by just SIDing to a bell town. This also funnels bell town into unnaturaly fast pace of water consumption starving that whole area down too quick.
SIDding counters on everything you are trying to push. Diverse towns, trading, surviving difficult situations etc.
Why do we even have to have /DIE command at all? Guess only positive is that you dont waste food pips on a baby that would just run.
bump REEEE
why did this topic die... Awesome and impacting ideas.
but plants require water and sunlight, dont see no sun and we dont drink anything else than wine ingame.
My theory is that we are mushrooms. We spread in a web and bloom out in certain places, feeding from decayed matter forming symbiotic realitionships with our surroundings.
