There is never a reason to stab a baby.
Haha, I partially agree. Being able to curse when someone kills you when a you’re baby sounds good, but about stabbing...
Yesterday I had a weird kid, my baby was 1yo and he told me:
I
WI
LL
KI
LL
U
I dropped him imediataly, he ran and put sad face asking for food, I told them to don’t feed him, but they didn’t listen. My daughter saw everything and shoot him with a bow and told people he was a griefer, people didn’t believe, they said “he’s just a sad baby”, then a old man stabbed my daughter, I healed her and a guy chased me with a knife, I ran but got killed by a boar with piglet.
That kid might was happy because he killed me and my daughter lol
But... why? Hahaha I didn’t understand.
Even Twisted had names some of her children “Hope” on his videos, it’s a very popular name.
Generally, “Hope” is the last girl of a town or one of the last girls, if you kill them, people might massive curse you.
I HATE cultists because they always end up killing me or someone else, but the person who got the name is not guilty. Killing a person because someone their name is grieving, the person couldn’t even choose it. Also, you’ll lower your score and you family’s score as well.
Your solution to avoid greedy murders and grief is killing anyone who doesn't obey you? What a greedy retard megalomanic asshole griefer.
You're not the king or something like that. Some people have weapon to defend themselves, they're not obligated to give their weapons to a kid who wants to own the only knife. If you want to make more tools, destroy your knife to do them instead of stabbing people to steal their stuff.
Tyrants dictators use to disarm the population in order to have the only weapons and rule the country easily, and them, kill who doesn't agree with them, they pretend they are doing that for a good cause, but it's a lie, they are just greedy murders. And you look like them.
You are free to play the way you want, but don't pretend you're helping people doing this. You're just an ordinary griefer.
Hahaha nice, I’ve watched all of his videos last month. I’m even thinking about making a game based on his channel, where everyone can run experiments, but Im working in another project now.
Last time I saw this note, I was trapped inside a property. A old woman and a guy kidnapped me, I was confused, I thought they would give me access, but they trapped me there and named me Brick. There were some bushes, boxes and that note, suddenly another old woman got inside (probably someone opened) and stabbed the guy and then starved, when my kidnapper was about to of old age, she gave me access to the property.
A lot of murders happened outside the property. I had to kill two potential griefers in my youth, because I was the last girl, they were acting suspicious, and they had weapons, there were weapons everywhere. When I was old, everyone was dead, but there were Qins in a north town and a family with a Queen came.
Afraid, they started to live inside a property, but another murder happened inside (they were 7x removed and a 1x removed cousin killed someone inside, and they killed him) and I decided to take all weapons and lock inside my propety, I did that. I gave access to the Queen, since my kids were dead.
I made a new fire, it was safe to live outside a property, the peace thrived in Qin town once again, while dozens of knives, bows and swords were sealed in a property, alongiside the Twisted’s note. Before I die of old age, I saw the Queen naming her kid “Bricky”, after me. All the people said “Goodbye” smiling and promised bury me, I died happy.
Alas, the property won’t last forever, and when the seal breaks... It might be the end of Qin family.
I usually play the game while I watch some YouTube videos that don’t need much visual attention, news for instance (I have two monitors). Or I just listen to one of my favorite playlists on Spotify.
Haha nice, you could link them to their death/birth location, so when we click on them, it redirect us to the wondible map to the place of b/d.
But anyway, your content is very cool. Thank you.
Thanks to @pein and @wondible, I learnt how to locate myself in OHOL World.
Today, I was born in Stark Town, had some children and when I was forty, I decided to test my new cartographer skills.
Stark Town:
I opened wondible map and found four nearby towns/villages.
I decided to visit them, see if anyone is alive and check their ruins, but what I found was a little bit weird.
First, I visited Radish Town, but just found a sheep pen in the middle of a swamp, everything (apart of clay) was untouched. Milkweeds everywhere, habbits inside holes, no chopped trees and a lot of wild food around the pen.
It was very weird, reminded me yesterday when I found a lot of big ancient stone buildings in the middle of nowhere, with trees and wild food inside, everything untouched, but a lot of stone buildings (without floors).
I decided to head to Whisler Town and when I arrived there, it was even more weird, I just found a road in an untouched area, I checked around, but only found a road and there was a tree in the same tile as the road, I didnt even know it was possible.
Next town, same thing, a road in the middle of nowhere, I couldn't check what family lived there.
And lastly, when I was almost dying of old age, I went to Bear Town. Can you guess what I found? Yes, another road. And this time, tree, sappling and milkweed grew on it.
I know the family names, because I checked http://publicdata.onehouronelife.com/pu … uesday.txt and http://publicdata.onehouronelife.com/pu … _names.txt and saw who was born/died nearby those coordinates, and they lived there less than 30h ago.
When I started playing, towns only got wiped when they were unseen for more than a month (If I am not mistaken), but now it seems they're getting wiped in a day, partially wiped to be honest.
Anyone knows how it works now? And what are those roads (and sometimes buildings, as the ancient stone buildings and the sheep pen)?
Haha very clever trap.
So, if you make a little house in the middle of nowhere, put a crown inside and then trap it, curious wanderes might get trapped inside if they aren't aware of this trick.
~Thank you very much @pein, I appreciate that information.
Wow, how can we check that sdout like you did? Can you teach me? I can help you later, I really love building roads. When a village dies, I just make a lot of axes, put them on a cart and go on a direction chopping down all trees on my way.
And now it's even better to build road, since Eves spawns closer then months ago, when we built a road connecting three bell towns (Many Eves' Town) that lasted for a month, even if Eves spawning futher and futher in a big spiral.
I stopped playing OHOL and came back yesterday, I saw the new life counter system. Imo it's good, I just need to use my /die wisely. I was used to die in bad spots, today looks like the griefer day, a lot of killing everywhere.
But here is the error, when you have no life left and get disconnected, you can't log in again because you're out of lives. I was still alive in game, but couldn't log in after being disconnected.
And why did I got disconnected?
I've seen this a lot of times yesterday and today. We can't kill family members with a sword, but we can "hit" them, and when we press SHIFT and try to kill any family member, our character will spam swords a lot of times and everyone around become laagy and get disconnected. Disconnected for real, because when they try to connected again, they get disconnected a second after. And I am sure it's because of swords, because I've seen that more than seven times, I even died twice because of this.
So, I can't login after a disconnect if I am out of lives and spam sword hit disconnects everyone around or cause laag to them.
Me and my cousin travelled more than two thousand tiles for that:
Villas what kinds of things cause you to want to stay when you see a place?
It depends on my mood.
Sometimes I’m bored of playing in big towns, so I just play in small camps and vice versa.
Sometimes I really hate a town (like the current bell town), I always /die there.
But also there are times that I love a town, so I /die until born there (if 24 hours are over and I know the town is alive or if I died before being 30 yo).
When I want to be an Eve, I slash die several times.
And currently I’m trying to avoid no-surename towns, because I witnessed some bugs related to curses, where no one could curse no-surename people, so they can break pens, break forge, kill people, hide weapons and tools without being punished. I can’t understand this bug, yesterday I tested cursing a no surename person and it worked, so I don’t know what trigger the bug, so I’m avoiding it.
Bad shapes aren’t a problem for me, It has been a long time since I saw a town dying because of mass starvation, actually they all are dying because of lack of girls.
- Let new players watch their mothers for 45 seconds (9 months) before being born
- They see everything their mother sees
- The Mother doesn't know she is pregnant
- If the baby dies during this time it will have no effects on the mother
- If the baby dies during this time the mother will never know she was pregnant
- There could be a message / indicator that tells the new player he has to wait until he is born
- The 45 seconds already count to the first year of the new player
It’s a very reasonable idea. But I think the mother would know she is pregnant after 10 seconds, to be more realistic and to help her planning better. For example, you won’t go to a iron mission if you’re pregnant. Most of /die babies do it in less than 10 seconds, so it won’t annoy mothers because they won’t know, but after ten secs they should be aware about that.
I don’t like it.
When I don’t like a place, I just want to /slash die and be banned.
If I can’t /die, I’ll just run.
And it doesn’t mean I need to go to the tutorial again, I know what to do, I just dot want to live there.
Also, a lot of mothers don’t feed children, or they feed them once to don’t reset their cooldown and them let the babies dies to continue their trip to bell town or to bring the iron back or even feed once and let die because they are baby boys.
Also I don’t want to play when my lost mother have me in the middle of the wild and die before going back to town, a five years old boy can’t do anything about that and it happens to me quite often. Or when you are a man in a Eve camp without fertiles because they died or because it’s a bad spot and no one wants to live there anymore.
I want to be free to ban some places from my birth range. If people get punished by suiciding or having it limited, some of them may play normally in the town they are being forced to stay, but others might just griefe until they are fifteen.
I agree we should have more types of tutorial, in my opinion there should be a tutorial for every kind of work. Bake, farm, clothing, hunting and even teaching to makeweight exhibit stuff like cars, planes, looms. But forcing people who are suiciding on purpose to do the tutorial again, doesn’t sound good.
I think we should force donkey town’s people to do the tutorial. Since most of them are newbies (experienced players know how to avoid curses or keep the curse score low), so teaching them how to bake/cook, build, make clothes might makes them more engaged next time they join to society again.
Villas wrote:.... Then he shooted me with a bow and arrow and told people “He is eating pies even after I told him to stop”.
If I had avoided the arrow, I would totally really grief that town like you did....
So he was right, you were a griefer, good that he shoot you, he saved his village from a griefer.
Yeah, it’s the feeling.
When someone isn’t doing anything wrong, but everyone say they are and punishing them. So, why the hell not?
But that guy who killed me gave me a good advice. Next time someone complains for no reason, I will kill them before they kill me and call me a griefer.
If I knew about that, I could just kill him and said “He was feeding babies” “pies”, and go back to my geese cookery, without someone complaining and chasing me cuz I’m killing “pets”.
I saw that situation twice, and both of them were because snowballs.
First time was last week in a bell town connected with a west town. I went to visit there when I was a little bit older and there were a lot of blood, two boy kids and a man, he was trying to kill the boys. He stabbed the first one and I tried to find a knife or bow like crazy, when I finally found, the man was already chasing me, but instead of stabbing me, he threw a snowball and after that stabbed me. But my text balloon was yellow, the surviver boy used a pad on me, but the man was protecting the thread. After some time, I was surprised because about 2 minutes past since I was stabbed, but I was still alive, the guy was feeding me and trying to get a needle and thread while running like crazy to do t get stabbed. After some time, I decided to go back to my town to see if someone heals me, but died in the middle of the way. I think there is a kind of bug, because I survived for five minutes and the balloon was yellow.
The second time was yearsterday, Romeo was killing everyone. He killed more than ten people, and no one could curse him (another bug, may be), everyone tried to curse him, but failed, he was killing the smartest people first and letting kids survive. After killing Grace, someone threw a snowball on him, then they killed him. The balloon was yellow, but he died quite fast.
http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=4055884
So my guess is that it occurs due to snowballs, since people throws snowballs on others to make them drop their weapons.
I understand your rage.
Yeasterday, was a kid killing geese to cook, they were in a crowded sheep pen and after killing two geese, a guy got extremely pissed with me, saying to stop and calling me griefer, I told him “Im cook” “Geese”, and kept doing my stuff and ignored him, after some seconds he said I was eating pies, I didn’t ate any pie, but said “sorry”. He started to follow me for two minutes while I was killing geese and totally ignoring him. Then he shooted me with a bow and arrow and told people “He is eating pies even after I told him to stop”.
If I had avoided the arrow, I would totally really grief that town like you did. Next life, gave my hard working and being kind with people, made three crowns and made sure to put clothes on a lot of children, just to make them curse that guy, I know it’s anti rp bringing stuff from another life, but my mother, a cousin and a daughter cursed that guy. I hope he was griefing and went to donkey town.
Wow, it`s very interesting.
And btw, how did you get that coordinate information?
Hahaha I loved it.
There is a huge uncertainty factor to OHOL
many players have apparently repeadedly huge problems to deal with that- - -
The certainty is: if you work in a town with fertiles, generations will enjoy your work, even if you just bring firewood or make hats. While working on a dead town for a random Eve might be in vain, since most of the towns aren’t rediscovered by someone, even bell towns, we had several bell towns last month and non of them was rediscovered by someone, all of that will decay after 1 month untouched.
But it’s not wrong working in a town with no fertile, I just think MY help ir more useful in another town, funnier, rewarding and satisfying as well, but It’s for me, other people might think different and it’s totally fine.
I have some problems near town camps. I got murdered more than five times as a toddler when I asked “town where”, generally those people act like crazy. So I only stay in a camp like that when my mother is reasonable (like you). I wouldn’t say with the twins for instance. And also, when someone steal a cart full of tools to start a camp, I just suicide and try to reset her cooldown if it’s possible, because I had problems in the past with people stealing pies, carts and tools to start a camp and they kept going back to steal pies without bringing plates back. But taking a bowl, even three bowls is ok. I think people is just scared of camps, because, generally, the camp starter is so egoistical that’s peanut worth spending one hour helping her. But it’s jut a hypothesis, because I’m not sure if it happens to someone else.
Villas wrote:breezeknight wrote:Eves spawn often in or near previous settlements
how about improving the camp for that potential Eve ?An Eve may find it or not. It’s not certain.
How about helping another town, with fertile girls?
I think helping an alive town/camp is much better than work alone in a dead place hoping someone will find it one day, in my opinion it’s too boring and most of the time doesn’t worth the effort, since there is a high chance of no one finding it.there is also a high chance of griefers screwing up successfully a town but apparently that doesn't stop you to long to get there
& also, you shouldn't take your help as that vital that a town cannot survive because you are not there,
that's a lesson this game teaches pretty well, to get onself down from the high horse of indispensabilityit's a social game & one of the social aspects is to do good work no matter at which point & no matter in which situation, it's a principle
& males suiciding because there is no fertile female are acting antisocial, they leave for egoistic reasons, not because they are eager to help out where help is needed, cause there are towns where your help is absolutely non-vital, but you don't suicide in such towns, you'll stay mainly because of the fertile females
this "fertile females" feature has gained meantime quite a traction
that's also why i dislike the awbz mod, it makes the player to calculate from a statistical gain position - no fertile female = no work input
but OHOL is about good work, not about gaini've also been in many situation, where male or even several males suicided although there were several people still there, me included but no fertile female
that happenend because such a decision is not about being social but about gain from the next gen
it's a postponed calculated gain with a safety net of certainty& i've also been to towns, where i had the most pleasant cooperation & thought exchange with males & elders as the last survivers, who still just worked humbly to improve the town & their own skill without any certain prospect of continuation
those people belonged to the nicest i've met in this game everhumility is what makes people social, not greed & conceit
that occurance of respawning to a dead town/settlement is not that seldom
i've also been to dead towns where things were quite visibly tided up, even smaller settlements,
i've been most grateful for the people who cared enough to bring things into order without that fertile females certaintybtw
i suicide as male or female, as baby, kid, adult, even elder if the people in a settlement/town are jackasses & egotists playing single player, just working their asses off without any consideration of the bigger picture, context or plan, creating an atmosphere of futility
also if they don't care for the griefers running the town, which happens at times quite often
people who don't care don't deserve my time & work input, that's my social principle- - -
I’m just saying suiciding in a no-fertile town isn’t worse than griefing. I’m not saying my help is vital in another town (but might be, I mean, one single girl could save the no-fertile town. So if I suicide and spawn as the last girl of somewhere else, actually my help would be vital. But it’s not the point.
I’m mean that is better to spend my time in a alive town/camp where people can enjoy my hard work than working alone in a dead camp hoping someone will find it. I play to have fun, to role play, I’m not playing a kind of 2D Minecraft where I work alone crafting stuff. I play to have fun, as someone said here on this thread, I don’t owe my time to anyone, principally to a place where there are no fertiles.
If you want to play in a dead town, it up to you.
Generally when a town dies because of no fertiles, it means other towns are having fertility problems as well, In my opinion it’s more egoistic to work in a dead town than working in an alive one, since there are probably towns needing girls.
But the good thing is, it’s up to us, we can choose the way we want to play, if you want to play in a dead town you aren’t harming anyone, neither if you decide to have fun somewhere else.
I don’t think it was your fault, you are nice man, you couldn’t know your kid would do that.
I only hide weapons when there are too many of them on ground. Bows are cheap to make, principally in a new camp/outpost where there are milkweed nearby, so if he really wanted to kill the last fertile, hiding the bow probably wouldn’t stopped him. You did it right, just were unlucky by having a lineage killer as son.
And boars always disturbing you. I remember a village where you got killed by a domestic boar that your son put in the pen.
