Kinda wish he gave it a shot though might be a good incentive for people not to be dicks

Yeah pretty much. Most  Town sheep pen are covered in butchered sheep and shit. I just tell my kids to clean the sheep pen, Even a new player could do it.

But none of them do...

Never enough of them and how lovely that they stack now, brilliant.

Good point....

#308 Re: Main Forum » Moving Ponds + Attraction to Roads? » 2018-08-24 21:24:00

This has always been a thing... i remember a few old towns before the apocalypse update having feilds on ice holes by them...

Ive seen it happen first hand when i poke a penguin, and it slides into an icehole that isnt there. Making a new one that can sometimes move for a second or two after, before becoming a permanent feature.

happened again, a civ died out cause 10% girls who go out to swamp and die, and people made a huge berry farm, while we had a desert with 3 ponds right next to kiln
after the eve and her kid died at 24 and someone did the eves job, and with the 3-4 wild bushes i seen made that berry farm, its like pissing on their grave to be lazy to make a new berry farm in a more optimal way
also mortality rates were very high at younger ages

honestly consider planting new bush on desert before fixing one on green tile
having multiple bush groups of 9 on corners better than a huge farm
so when you can make wood tiles just enclose 9 tiles and plant one, berry is not the best long ago but its newbee friendly

I agree we need to put an end to the huge, misplaced berry farms. Everything is so much easier in 3x3 plots

I wonder if this guide will mean less people chasing down the last remaining scraps of food and instead preparing the way for the future by composting and ensuring famines are left to noob camps. First priority is make sure the place can survive, then move on to making crowns and pretending you're something special in a game wink

Good luck with that... there are wayyy more griefers, and sponges than productive members of society.

(Not lumping in RP, because it can be fun for breaks in between jobs if its used properly. It also gives dedicated farmers something to do between crops)

#312 Re: Main Forum » Berry stakes » 2018-08-22 18:48:14

Ive seen a griefer drain all the ponds and wells this way...

#313 Re: Main Forum » Drugged » 2018-08-22 18:47:05

He said we should think of drugged lives as an extention of the original trip. Like you didnt really die your just tripping so hard you think you died and were reborn.

Its a bug turned feature

#314 Re: Main Forum » Having Fun and Messing Around is NOT Griefing » 2018-08-20 04:12:59

You dont have to only work your whole life, but you cant only RP. Tend some berrys. Farm a lil. Talk while you do it.

But if all you do is eat and talk thats griefing. Someone might kill you.

People sitting around doing nothing is NOT an excuse to kill someone. They are NOT griefing. You can yell at them, sure, but don't kill them. I swear, people are just coming up with excuses to kill eachother because they feel like killing someone.

Sitting around doing nothing, or spamming for "years",
is arguably sponging which is a form of griefing
If someone asks a player who isn't doing anything productive
(especially at times of famine or at the dawn of a new age when most focused labor is required to survive and/or grow)
multiple times with no impact to action, no change in duty,
especially when paired with disdain...
well, then that my friends,
that's a stabbin'.

Spamming objects instead of farming:
that's a stabbin'.

Stealing a mother's baby is kidnapping,
and that's a stabbin'.

I swear, people are just coming up with excuses to kill eachother because they feel like killing someone.

As OP can attest to, it seems like we are finding "people are just coming up with excuses" not to be productive for their society.

Do I want to kill villagers?
No, I really don't.
It puts me in danger, from starvation and scared villagers.
Executions frequently cause players to stop what they are doing,
start talking to understand the justification of said execution,
and more often than not,
rallying against the keepers of basic law and order,
like me.
That is just the risk I bear being a keeper.
You're welcome.
I'd rather be black smithing , building, or tending sheep.

I DOwant villagers to help our society flourish,
but very often famines/food crises are caused
by people not doing direct harm,
but rather endlessly bullshitting.

I am not endorsing slaughtering people in their 50s,
who should be freely allowed say their goodbyes
and tie up loose ends
("Here is where i have a hidden bow and arrow, knives, etc... Rabbits are south west, Iron is..., etc...")
in the final moments of their life.

As a player, Jason asks us to figure out how we,
both as individuals and as a community,
are going to handle griefing.

And as of right now, talking and curses aren't an effective deterrent,
and the game is only progressing, giving us weekly updates with more to do
and more and more to be responsible for.

So, I and other like minded individuals in the community (shout out to Mirelli)
have decided to
always stab and shoot griefers,
and people who's roleplaying includes being non-working tyrants,
or non-working *fill-in-the-blank*

Love,
Pharo

Seconded

This happened to me once i was a guy in a big town when someone killed all of the sheep. I chased them down and killed them in front of the whole town.

Everyone was trying to kill me, but for some reason they couldn't.

They tried bows, and knifes. I stood still and explained the whole time. They told me to move so they could stab me , and i obliged moving a few squares and sitting still.

Eventually they realized that in my current immortal state if i was a griefer they would all be dead anyway, and let me get back to work.
