Edited because my family was likely just killed off because server maintenance.

However, I think either babies or old people should avoid the lineage ban OR just decrease the timer to two hours. Something that makes sure uncontrollable births don't screw the newest generations births.

#1502 Re: Main Forum » Nameless (Fucile) » 2018-06-09 10:02:53

I was the guy doing all the smiting and made the batch of sauerkraut (Sona Fucile). It's a shame they messed up all those bushes early in our life and just stopped tending to the farm. We ended up having two crocks of stew and the one big crock of kraut. It was nice being able to just live a life carefree and try out the new stuff with other excited people.

#1503 Re: Main Forum » So what are the best foods now? » 2018-06-09 09:54:41

Sauerkraut is great if you have frozen ponds nearby.

Green beans - Alright basic food if you're about saving space. (Popcorn fills this niche better and as of right now stew makes the crock unusable after.)
I'd skip them unless you really really want stew.

Potato - Worth growing if you have the shovel nearby and someone working the oven for pies/mutton/whatever. Worth six each bite and is a two bite food. Downside is requiring two soil but right now this isn't an issue.

Squash - Into the trash can tier. Unless you're making stew this isn't something you grow. Do yourself a favor and squash your dreams and move onto sauerkraut master race.

Cabbage - Makes the sauerkraut our heart desires. Don't grow it until you've gotten all the tools ready to make yourself a big batch of kraut otherwise you're gonna have blue balls waiting around to be made great.

If you're traveling around your best choices are going to be pies and baked potatoes, old and young should be munching on berries or popcorn (skip those green beans.) Working adults should be eating kraut/stew (more like eww.) But hey, that's at least what I think.

#1504 Re: Main Forum » Having some trouble with farmed food design » 2018-06-04 23:24:25

The thing with berries is that they're always making food for you. If you water and take care of a bush you're getting food every eight or so minutes vs carrots which is either four minutes + an hour (or just the four minutes if you put soil back on the hardened row but why would you.) vs Corn which takes eight minutes and leaves you with hardened soil as well.

Having a crop that is constantly producing food is going to be king vs crops that require you wait before producing more. Maybe have berries require fertilizer when it's languishing (Ground sheep bones + wet compost pile.) so that if you just spam berries you eventually just kill all your bushes.

Also different food should fill different niches with soil and worms. Carrots are the fastest usable crop (Four minutes from planting to picking) vs corn (Longer prep time but better than carrots.) Have each one leave the soil in a different state of hardened so you have a reason to not just plant one or the other.

TL;DR: Berries are good because you always have food. Other foods are bad because it's better to just make more tilled rows rather than dumping on hard soil.

#1505 Re: Main Forum » Nameing all kids the same » 2018-06-04 16:58:51

"Old McDonald had a farm. REE REE REE REE REE."

You really shouldn't be caring what people name their kids. At least the mother cared enough to name her babies.

#1506 Re: Main Forum » Ambulance!!! » 2018-06-03 04:30:32

Nah. I was the guy who expanded the berry farm from the two original planted bushes we had to the large berry forest (with the help of the children of course.) If you were ever near the berry farm I was the guy explaining how to properly take care of and feed the future generations with all the bushes we grew.

It's okay mother. I didn't get anything as an older boy ended up grabbing it before I was old enough. I made sure to take care of the other hungry babies around the fire and eventually met my future husband like I once was, a hungry lonely child. I'm sorry you didn't get to see any of your grandchildren but I know you would have loved them just like I did.

I (Persis) was the one to kill Liz. She wanted my knife when I grew much too old to hold onto the thing. I tried to pass my backpack over to Conan but he was busy taking care of the berries we grew together. First thing she did when she had that knife in her backpack was go around threatening to cull the population because "clearly not enough food." I caught her off guard when she was threatening someone and stopped her before she did any actual damage. Unfortunately, killing her ended up causing me to starve to death before getting old but that's the sacrifice you have to make for the greater good.

I was also wondering why in the world there was a girl running around my berry farm just screaming AHHH their whole childhood.

Sorry Mother, I was angry to see how our little village changed. I remember seeing plenty of food and young faces when I was still a young girl. Each of the many times I returned home things were always in dismay. Murder, famine, and mismanagement brought the city to its knees many times in my lifetime. The knife you gave me wasn't ever used on another human being, it only ever turned fluffy sheep into tasty pies. The crown you passed to me was given to my granddaughter Orchid who made great strives to turn my little carrot farm into a bigger outpost to the southwest of town.

Both the cities still remain, the larger city normally much more inhabited vs it's smaller outpost which teeters from great to shambles just the same.

Dear Mother,

I was a small talkative baby that your sister gave birth to. She listened to me babble until she decided she wasn't ready for motherhood. She took me far far away from the village and left me there to die alone in the world. My little legs ran as fast as they could trying to make it home when I found you. You took care of me mother, you saved me when I thought all was lost. You told the story of how your baby died in your arms and the great void he left in your heart. I tried to express how sorry I was in the few bits of babble I could speak but I told you "I mak you hap py." I spent my entire life working and leaving you little gifts. The first gift was something simple, a few pies so that you wouldn't go hungry. My second gift a small woolen booty to keep your one cold foot warm. My third gift I fixed our little carrot farm that had been abandoned while I was still growing up. My fourth gift was bringing back sheep to a once full and prosperous pen.

By now mother you grew old and apologized for having to leave me alone in this great big village. I told you I loved you and thanked you for giving me a chance at life. When you died I carried your body off to the building off to the side of town with the little luv sign. I continued to work every year until finally I grew much to old to do anything. I slowly made my way back to the little building and thanked you one last time before collapsing next to you.

Thank you for a wonderful life Mom, and thank you for giving me a chance.

All the fighting in the town was from like 10am est to about 5pm or so when Jason launched the patch. After that an Eve repopulated it and all the actual war stuff stopped. If you ever end up in the town your best bet is just to go to the eastern town. It's a much nicer place with a lot less murder overall.

#1512 Re: Main Forum » Ducks: A city of blood. » 2018-05-08 15:20:55

Yeah the sign name change occurred after the patch when the war was officially over. Eve Morgan founded ducks after the patch and proceeded to populate the city of Ducks while Aura one of her later daughters filled the east with her kin. I tried to make sure to tell all my children the history of the cities but it seems like history did not get passed down with each and every generation we had.

#1513 Re: Main Forum » N/A » 2018-05-08 04:45:29

Yes I was indeed Beth. When I was first born the king and one of his men talked about heading north to kill any of the villagers that were left up in Ducks. I worked on my hands and knees with the help of my children to fix the town I called home. I told the king to leave our little village but the man didn't heed my warning. I remembered what the king and my mother spoke about as a child. Killing the men, taking the women. I would have none of that for my children. As soon as the opportunity presented itself I murdered the tyrant. Once he was dead the children, me, and the lone survivor of the attacks celebrated. I came back to the south in an attempt at peace. The violence between the two towns had lasted over one hundred years at this point.

All I wanted from you people were to stop sending men with weapons to my village. I asked you if we could have put this behind us but as I spoke a child rang out from the crowd. "I was the king." A young brown haired boy chanted. I would explain the reason I had to kill him but feeling the mood starting to sour I returned home to continue helping out around town. Once I had started to gray I noticed my aunt running around the village. I knew you weren't here on any sort of good will mission as I seen the knife you pulled from your backpack. I slipped away but as I did I heard that oh so familiar sound of a scream. You stabbed my nameless cousin who had brought refugees to my village. I couldn't let you get away with that and returned stab for stab. Once you were dead I explained to my children I was going to make one last vain attempt at peace and headed off.

As I made my journey back to the south I seemingly fell prey to a dreaded tree rattlesnake before even getting another word in to the south.

Long live the South!

I ended up making it back to Ducks and repopulated the place. I tried to make peace multiple times over that life with you southern folk but not once would you stop sending people up with weapons. At some point the southwest city became deserted in between the time I got off for a bit and Ducks got into a war with the eastern city.

Iday wrote:

I believe our town did. (Yippee!) As the war was apparently over after the patch occurred and the city to the East had been completely deserted.

After the patch Eve Morgan revitalized Ducks. The southwestern city was either culled during the patch or I was unable to remember exactly where it was. The city to the east was eventually settled by Aura Morgan who in turn raised the city back to a livable state. It was kind of nice to be able to live in the city without fearing people would come and start raiding the cities again.

Our story starts in the little village of ducks (or suck if you were there before I changed the sign up.) We were a rather well off village minus a few people here and there that seemed to either be new at the game or possibly dropped on their heads as a baby. We had more pies than people at one point I swear. However, many of the cities wells grew dry and people stopped caring to even attempt water the rather large carrot farm we had. Once the seemingly endless amount of pies disappeared a famine occurred causing the first wave of deaths the land would see. At about this time I believe is when the family split into two distinct groups. The first group would stay in the northern city of Ducks while the second group left home for a city southwestern city. I'm not sure if they ever had a name but I never had any good experience with these folk. A child came running up to the bakery screaming of our sister city taking carts of supplies back home with them. I ignored the girls cry as I was more interested in making sure our fair people had plenty of pies to eat and I wasn't exactly willing to go searching from some petty thieves.

Later in my life a gentleman from our sister city returned home asking if we could spare them a little girl to help repopulate their dying city. Instead, the man was greeted with a steel blade to his gut. This splash of blood would be the spark that set Ducks into what seemed to be a never ending war with her sister city. I believe the north and southwest city fought for a good three hours at the very least. I can remember many men being sent back and forth with their only goal to end the lives of family now spread across the land. I have to assume Ducks had won the war as five or six hours after the initial event the southwestern city lay abandoned of any real form of life. Ducks however, is not a city of peace. When I was born there again my grandmother and a few other people were arming themselves to attack an eastern city. An old man informed me this conflict started when thieves stole from his mother. This was the new war against non-related peoples which continued up until server shutdown.

TL;DR - Village splits into two groups after a huge famine and end up in conflict for a few hours. Same village gets into another conflict that lasts until patch is launched.

Well I very much stabbed crown guy when he came up to the northern village. Protip: Don't make plans on murdering people in front of children. I ended up heading north to the village to warn them about the griefers from our southwestern sister city. As soon as I seen him in the north he got a one way ticket back to his troll town in baby form.

To the little girl who joined in on my dumb dancing skeleton gimmick.

Never in my two hundred hours of this game have I bursted out laughing like I did when you started copying me. I spent my whole life just entertaining babies by dropping and picking up a skeleton while making jokes about it dancing and egging the skeleton on. Thank you for the brief time we had together until someone finally had enough and stabbed me. I hope you passed on our skills to the future generations just like I did for you.

#1518 Re: Main Forum » The town of Saint Eva » 2018-04-29 23:12:46

The place is still running last time I checked so good work to all my family that helped make town so wonderful. I've been born many many times in this town and tried to make it a little better each time.

My first life was when the town was oh so very young. We barely had any food and soil was still being brought to town as we started to expand our home from a speck on the map to it's much more flourishing state. My first life I was born a young girl with one thing on my mind. I worked with some help here and there to get our first set of tools finished. I ended up giving the knife to my cousin Yorel for being such a good helper around the village. With the villages tools all finished and my age catching up to me I happily passed into the next life intent on continuing where I left off.

My second life my goal was to start making lasting changes to the villages. As soon as I was old enough to move I started searching high and low for stones to create a well. Unfortunately (my now Uncle) Yorel seemingly lost his mind in our little carrot farm. There was plenty of screaming and even more blood. I think Uncle Yorel claimed the souls of four or more of our family before finally being killed himself. Anywho, once that ordeal was settled and I had explained to the children how the wells work we were off to start up the family berry farm. Much of this life was devoted to setting up as many bushes as I could for the family. Once I had gotten much to old to continue my work I brought a little girl named Ema to see the slightly hidden bushes. I returned Ema to her mother before making a rushing sweep to fetch more soil for town as we were starting to run out. Sadly time is always too short and just as I arrived to delivery the soil death swiftly fell upon me.

My only other real noteworthy life started about the same. Our ruling queen Cleo just passed her crown to her daughter and as soon as her mother passed she chucked the crown on the ground. This life I would be queen even if it was a little shorter than I expected. I made a few more wells until I was old enough to start having my children. Timmy was the first of three children followed by Johnny and my third son. As I was talking to my cousin Steve I had decided we were having too many kids. As Steve reached into his backpack for a knife a little boy ran over to me begging to be fed. Not being a cruel queen I ran to feed the hungry boy and that's when it happened. Steve aiming for third child accidentally stabbed me as I went to feed the boy. I was a little peeved thinking Steve had murdered me in cold blood but must have been fate for me to die protecting that child he aimed for.

Either way thanks for all the fun. Glad to see other people enjoying the brief moments we all had together.

#1519 Re: Main Forum » What do you name your kids? » 2018-04-22 17:32:18

I either give myself the last name Tarr or Ree as an eve and then proceed to name all my children Ree. Had a few babies run into the wilderness when they realized they were a little Ree Tarr.
