It always amuses me when someone proves that people were right not to trust them and thinks that will teach people that they should have been more trusting.
You always have the perfect replies, that sums it up.
Just for reference:
Glasswort, grapes, trees, wheat, milkweed, pumpkin, squash, corn and berries all give infinite seeds.
How does berries give infinite seeds?
218 years and we still start a fire with leaves and sticks, and water crops with a clay bowl.
This is a list of "why"s that never had any answers, as it's getting hopeless for this game at this point to get any better
Why water so limited with one well for the whole town
Why food runs out SO FAST
Why is everyone forced to share EVERYTHING
Why building walls takes extreme effort and never efficient
Why only ONE BUILDING should have ONE FIRE and everyone has to share it
Why can't we have our own houses, with closets for our clothes and stoves for cooking and fridges for storage
Why can't we run our own business, our own farm, our own store
Why can't tech tree advance beyond vehicles and engines
Why property fences ownership can be shared but not doors
Why can't gate ownerships pass down to your kids
Why there is no updates to add new items, plants, animals, a few each update never hurts
This game has so much potential but it's been a long time since we've had any insight about its future, the updates don't show anything promising as if we've reached a dead end.
Maybe it's time for Jason to talk about where the game heading, what is planned for the future, and if anything is gonna change.
Why add pavement when our towns are still stuck at stone age, even the "car" we have is just ugly and unpractical at all. It's not the right time to add it, especially considering how extremely expensive it is to make both engines and extracting oil, which are both way important to be wasted on cars and pavement. You can't just ignore the fact we water using "clay bowls" and not even watering cans, and we still make fire with the most primitive way ever! And now we have pavements for the most unpractical car design!
We have a diesel engine, but most of the tools we use are so primitive, in this thread I'm representing the problems with the solution next to it
P for problems, and S for solution
1. P: Fire bow for starting fire ------>S: Any device that ignites kindling
2. P: Clay bowl for watering crops ------>S: Watering Can
3. P: Clay bowls for storing "seeds" ------>S: Bags for seeds
4. P: Papers that you can only write on one sentence? ------> S: Books/Diaries
5. P: Obtaining cut stone is long painful process ------> S: Device for mining cut stone
When will this game advance in technology? And no I do not mean robots and vehicles bullshit, I mean tools and accessories! I'm sick of watering plants with clay bowls, why not start using watering cans? Why we still use the most primitive way ever in making fire but we have a diesel engine? Start advancing in tool tech please.
Since it's a 120Hz laptop the first thing that comes to mind is that it's some kind of framerate issue. Go into the game's folder, and in there you'll find a settings folder. There's a bunch of files in there, you can open them with Notepad and edit them that way, just remember to save the changes. Don't worry, you can't mess anything up - and even if you do, redownloading will fix it.
Try setting the targetFrameRate file to 120 (or change it to 60 if it was on 120 already)
Try setting skipFPSMeasure to 1 (or 0 if it was 1)
Try setting halfFrameRate to 1
Try setting countingOnVsync to 1 (or 0)I am fairly confident that one of these (or a combination of one of these) will fix your issue. That being said I'm not a game developer or programmer, I'm just a layman that wants to help.
Use the same method above but change targetFrameRate file to 30 instead and it will work
Jason: so you need patriarchy I see...
*Property fences noises in the background*
Look how everyone is stressed out on this game rather than enjoying it, fighting like animals over resources
Just don't call people pedos, and apologize, easy solution. And stop this pathetic attention seeking threads please.
The engine won't support flowing water and I don't think Jason plans to add pipes sadly.
Also, we already have mountain biome just doesn't look as a mountain, but he also uses height to generate the map and the special biomes.Compost: other than the water use, it's okay, it's supposed to be a cycle that's why you plan ahead and make it, you got some profit on it, it was better when we had a lot of water to gather. Soil conversion is a bit bad so now you make 1 water into 4 bowls of soil, and that soil needs to be watered so it's kinda bad if you make too many. We would need the food to decay and recycle to compost, and that would need a complex system to recycle since each food worth different pips, then that compost would need to be calculated from pips, around 125 pips would convert to a compost pile then you wouldn't lose resources just you would have to make the food again. Bones don't decompose too fast, so that's not a realistic idea, but getting rid of bones would be nice. Some names swapped when people carried them in carts, that's why the change.
Would be fun to have any higher-tech, even if it requires to be inside a building
Beds or benches would need a stamina bar and replace hungry work and slots. Sadly he won't do that.
Same for cosmetic stuff, he won't do that and he won't let us help him.
Haircut won't happen cause the sprites are hand tailored to characters, the positioning is based on the characters so swapping them is impossible, you could technically mix and match them but that is same length to make new ones.
He is kinda lazy and rejects any idea, especially what is not his and what is in other games, and what is not food or warmth related
I've seen lot of your suggestions which are brilliant, and yet ignored for some reason, but I made this topic to just throw as much ideas as possible that could push us forward a bit in the game, as the game is going toward failure at this rate. The community is becoming desperate for tech advance and giving up.
If the updates turns the attention to increase the knowledge of the player, that will alow us to to work as a team as jason is trying to do in the worst way possible. If schools are made, which is a place kids under the age of ten can sit on benches that slows hunger and allow them to listen to a teacher, that teaches them about planting or smithing, and we add a library with books which are guidelines for planting and smithing and lot more stuff which the new players after school could borrow to learn more advanced techniques, this will give us generations of experienced players that are able to be organized and truly work as a team!
What do you mean he have lot of trouble with griefers? Griefers only wants the game to get a proper update, it's their way of protesting, it's like a loop Jason trapped in for a year, he keeps nerfing everything and more players turn into griefers, no advance in technology at all, and because of people like you that is asking him for "modern cars" when we still water our crops with clay bowls, he won't understand what we want. We want to start advancing in every aspect of our life, and to look at this game as a mystery to be solved not just starving simulator, each activity we do must advance, we want books we want establishments as libraries, hospitals, schools, factories, that allows everyone to learn at the same time and not only one person carrying up the whole server becuase he's the only one who has the patience of learning everything by himself!
Books: Creating a book from papers, will allow the player to carry that book on the side of the backpack, that will add an icon for "diary", which the player can open by clicking a book icon next to the health bar, the diary book contains maps coordinated u held, that can be click on for directions, as well the book can be used for making guides!! A guide for agriculture, smith and crafting, laws, etc... What does this leads us to?? A library where all those guidelines are made, which all new players can spend time readying with them or borrowing the book to complete their training.
Fountain: a specialized pump engine can be crafted to create a fountain which works by adding buckets of water into it. It works just like a cistern but adds beauty and the idea of gardens to the town.
Pruning: You will be able to prune domesticated trees, to dwarf them, or to change their shape to triangles/rectangles/circles, which also serves the purpose of adding gardens.
Benches: Add benches to sit on as a way to "rest". This rest statue will slow down the hunger process and gives u time to chat with someone, maybe for schooling kids/ for chilling in gardens/ or a way to escape starving while waiting for food to be done, when there is a famine.
New biome: Mountains with high altitudes, which means they are so cold and windy, walking there reduces speed, and there is permanent rocks that doesn't allow buildings or cultivation except for "pipes". So what can u find there? A spring with infinite water! You can only obtain water from there in one way, building a pipe network from that spring all the way to your town well, that pipe line will get rusty every ten years, and requires smithing hammer to fix each pipe all the way to the source. This biome is rare and cannot be found easily!
Watering can: Enough watering crops with bowls, and start advancing in technologies!
Change compost: No longer use our edible food for compost!! Compost is decomposed "organic material". Compost is made with material such as leaves, shredded twigs, and kitchen scraps from plants, which means we can use turkey and sheep bones/banana peals/ Tree branches/ and anything which is food waste! Any food waste could be thrown into a pile that could be turned into a compost with the right proportion of ingredients.
Flowers : Add very rare flowers that can exist in each biome, that can dye cloth to a very special color!
Haircuts: Allow us to change our haircuts with a specialized scissors, and add makeup!
Move bones with carts: to move them faster rather than one by one.
Lighter: Move on the primitive way to light fire into more advanced one.
Fireplace: It can be placed on the adobe wall and let the fire last longer, and looks good.
carpets: For coloring the floors of our houses, and gives warm.
Cotton plant: For alternative way to make cloth and carpets.
closet: Can hold bigger amount of cloths
Bed: to rest, same way as the benches.
kitchen faucets: you add it to the wall, and you can add a bucket of water to it, then u can use a bowl on it to take water.
Also buff iron for us to reach this kind of technologies at some point, and have our own houses as well possible.
Thank you toxic for informing us about this important decision that everyone needs to know and care about
That is your daily attention dose you're welcome.
Dude we are starving non stop, no food in towns, no food in the wild, water and iron are more precious than diamond, and here we are are discussing why we are not "organized".
Is one hour enough time to enjoy our one life, lot of opinions are there about this topic, but we are not here to change the time, we are here to save it from being wasted. So what are the time consuming and boring tasks that every generation has to go through it and can be avoided?
1. Seeds: Every one of us has to deal with the seed scattered all around the town each life, takes up our space and waste our time finding a space for them, how to solve this? The answer is "SEED BAGS", seeds are very small, and the idea of only five carrot seeds fit in a bowl is so painful, so solution is a seed bag that fit big amount of seeds, no more using bowls for storing few seeds.
2. Watering can: We can make a bucket but we can't make a watering can? How long we will use bowls to water our crops? We are stuck on this primitive way of watering for so long now.
3. Dead lamps and pigs: Can they de-spawn faster?
4. Mutton and pork: Can they be stacked rather than one on each tile?
I can think of more stuff but those are the urgent things we need atm, and I'm sure the comments from the community can provide more information about the tasks that are wasting our precious hour life.
The forum is overwhelmed, a lot of players play the game for 2-3 days, then nothing.
People complain, lot of scandals, hate on the update, Jason enjoys that, at least people come out. I mean I don't agree with every buff idea, but nerfs don't solve the current situation. Does it make harder for the veterans? A tiny bit, but we just see more bones around. It's more annoying to get anything done than before. I jumped into 3-4 games lately, honestly, I don't feel too motivated. I redesigned the city once, started a cow pen, got surprised on the grapes mechanics what I already knew but kinda forgot. Tried to make the more efficient foods, rather than just pies. I guess it mattered a bit but overall nothing changed. What keeps you all motivated? I liked rushing tech and making long lines when it actually mattered a bit.
Now I feel like I don't want to spend time with tech I can't finish on my own. So just hang around preparing shit tons of resources and let newbies finish it.Trade and wars didn't happen, we even went backwards. No capitalism, no ownership of items, buildings don't matter much, no real purpose for them, the mechanics of animals are quite simple still. I can't set up shop and make people work for money or unlock content with currency.
Theft is even more common than before cause we don't have ways to do special items and even if people understand what we say if they can't do it on their own, hard to explain why and how to do things for us.War didn't happen, mainly cause we don't have sides, mainly cause we are reborn on different sides, so we would end up against our own families, there is no skill-based duels, no dodging, no targeting, only one-sided battles with mob mentality against some griefers, I even don't really participate, just throw a knife to a kid to do the dirty work. No team battles, sieges or territory control, no AI attacks, no tower defence.
The iron change doesn't change much, yet another nerf to iron, it even makes it simpler to get it but now towns steal it from others and it's still kinda the same, the random mining would make sense, at least we would have some different results and an industrial zone, not sure if it would happen.
Player skill went up a bit and we got a lot of good smiths, bakers, builders, we don't even have enough jobs to do, you either go for the oil grind which is out of your hand so not that satisfying, quite repetitive or you just hang around the town without a goal.
We really need more complex systems, more goals. At least upgrades should be more, small gradual upgrades so not only 4-5 players get a chance to do anything for the city. We need some competition and chaos.
What keeps you motivated?
Jason if there is anyone who you should listen to, it should be this man.
We do care about resources, Dodge. Gathering and building and making tech is 90% of this game. People can't do anything useful without the right tools. I don't understand why you think we don't care about iron. It is one of the most important resources in the game. When a village has an abundance of iron by the forge it means than many players made an effort to gather up a bunch of the stuff and bring it home with them so the village would thrive.
Of course we care.
There is no need to remove all the free iron from the game to force us to care about each piece as if it was the village's last girl child. That is overkill.
Couldn't say it better!
Any family should have access to biomes such as arctic, jungle, and desert if they were wearing proper clothes, for example for the arctic they need full "fur" clothing, it could be rabbit or a new polar bear or arctic fox, white fur would actually look pretty good.
And for jungle full straw and reed clothing, which we have straw hat and reed skirt, and add other body part clothes.
For the desert clothes made out of wool, full wool clothing!
I've made this suggestion several times, we need to be able to easily craft signs for navigation!! How nice would it be to arrive to a city with a name of it on it's entrance. Everyone would enjoy having signs that navigate them throughout the world, it's been a year asking for the same thing, just do it please.
The game will never become any good without this particular update.
I'm perfectly happy with murder-free living.
Same for me
The Letter system takes a lot of skewers to make them, and not a tiny amount either even for the simplest signs.
It would be okay to keep the current complexity of letters, but maybe have them be made based on an infinite resource (kinda like how fences work currently) instead of the very hard to get (especially late game and with the rift) skewers.
In terms of signs with directions, I would love to be able to make arrows for signs.
Jason doesn't read suggestions anymore, don't waste your time.
